I wish I had bought the big bag because I wondered if this same stuff would seal my TAILGATE! Bummer, why didn't you suggest that? HA J/K

I see your not so subtle dig - but this isn't a 'point of view' thing.
This is a "what leak?" thing because mine hasn't had a problem other than wind noise.
Maybe it's addressing the TSB on wind noise and leaks? That's all ya had to say "maybe this addresses the TSB about water leaks",
Mine has wind noise, but no leaks.
Even with a car wash or a torrential rain (like driving in August 2020), there's never any water that enters so this must be an issue with some and not all.

So you are saying these have leaks with the roof correctly installed and the doors closed?
First, take a deep breath, everything is going to be OK. And, yes, this appears to be you not being able to comprehend that there are other ways to look at issues besides the one way you look at them. I mention something, which is met with a passive-aggressive reply from you explaining to me why I am wrong and you are right. Example: "I'll put a plumb bob on mine" . Really, you feel the need to prove someone wrong so much that you're going to go out and put a plumb bob on the weatherstrip just because you are unable to accept the fact that someone else could be right and you could be, dare I say, wrong?

Anyhow, yes, the roofs will have minor leaks under certain conditions even with the roof correctly installed and the doors closed. It's the nature of the beast with these vehicles being designed to have removable roof panels. But maybe they didn't teach that back in the 70's in car "college".

I have been in exactly 1 situation where the channels in question caught and re-directed several drips of water. It was torrential rain, extremely high crosswinds and highway speeds for about 1.5 hours. I saw the few water drips on the rubber mat, and used a flashlight from the interior to look in and I could see that the drips were coming off the bottom of the channel. When the trip was over, the rain had ended and the outside had dried off and when I finally opened the door I was still able to see the moisture in the channel. Other than this one time, my interior has been completely dry.

I know all this is probably difficult for you to believe, but I'm sure you'll explain how your experience proves that my experience is somehow wrong.

Whats the point, it is a discussion, why does someone need to be right or wrong.

If you look up the part it actually has the drain pipe built into it feom the windshield roof junction, ao if you had water I qould make sure that pipe is seated well on the drain.

I think Papa nailed it, when he said filling that void helps to kill the wind noise. Every bit helps.

I use my truck every day and have meetings and phone calls, I have it to the point, most people cannot tell I am driving.

I have had to adjust the tops and windshield. I also have added foam seals aroind the windshield joints.
