Tells us more! Pics? Where did you stick the device? Can you use the port in the center console?

Jeep Gladiator Wireless Android Auto 1627571244377

I have the device plugged into the center console. It takes a little under a minute for Android Auto to show up on the infotainment screen after starting the Jeep. When it does show up, it's a little slow at first, but after a few minutes it runs better. There's a slight lag when opening apps or navigating in Google maps. Not that bad, but it's not as quick as having your phone plugged in directly.

Android Auto allows you to display apps from your phone on the infotainment screen.

What was your purchase date? I bought at the end of June and am not expecting until October-ish.

In my previous vehicle, I had straight wireless Kenwood units and loved them. Keys stay in pocket with proximity door unlock and push button start, phone stays in pocket with wireless AA. Don't worry about battery drain. I was seeing about 15%/hr of driving, which is about my daily commute.

I contributed on March 10th.

It's definitely nice to be able to jump in and have Android Auto running without pulling out a phone and plugging in.

Is it all apps on your phone or just AA capable apps?

AA has a select list of music, navigation, and texting apps - it's mostly up to the developer to make them AA ready. That being said, there's a long list in each category, most every music/nav/texting app people use work with AA.

No videos, weather, games, etc. though.

Guess I'll just hunker down for the long haul. You should be receiving yours soon, I'd wager. The page has posts from Feb-April contributions with receipts. Check your campaign page if you haven't, sometimes the shipment info will be there without an email update.

Ordered April 5th for mine. I should be in the next shipment since all the May ones just went out a few weeks ago.

I was one of the earlier funders of the campaign so I have had mine a while. I found that it works most of the time, but every now and then it just doesn't connect to my phone, so I have gone back to using the wired connection. I think the intermittent connection issue is caused by the Gladiator keeping the USB port powered for some time (approximately an hour, I think) after the vehicle is turned off. The AA Wireless dongle works around that by having the app not connect to the dongle until the phone connects to a Bluetooth connection of your choice. Choosing the U Connect radio, in theory, should resolve the issue, and it does most of the time, but not 100% of the time.

I know this is old but Im wondering how you still like the wireless AA...Im ordering the Carlinkit 4.0 which supports AA.
I haven't been using it lately, but it works pretty well. Occasionally, I get the Uconnect "Device not Supported" message, but that happens even with wired connections. That's mostly a Uconnect issue, and not the AA dongle.

@jtforrester mentioned another issue. When the Jeep is sitting in my driveway, the dongle still gets power for a while after turning off the Jeep. My phone will stay connected to the dongle and do some annoying things.
