Final response on the public thread. I’m not breaking the rules. What deceit? You as a consumer have every right to buy from whatever vendors you’d like. I for one will never buy from ford. Domestic But I do my research when I choose vendors. Wol boxs. happens to be amazing. International. Cascadia 4x4. Amazing and international. Volvo. Amazing and international. Your phone is undoubtedly manufactured overseas. I’m guessing you’re fine with that.
My problem is not with the fact that it was made outside the US. I couldn't care less about where something was made. You are conflating country of origin with point of sale. I want the things I buy to be sold from here in the US and supported here in the US. My phone was made in Korea, but Samsung took care of importing it to the US and the have an infrastructure in place in the US to d support their products that they sell in the US. The companies you named have entities here in the US, and they don't ship customers items from outside the US.

I’m laughing as I remember our Volvo. After signing, it was put on a ship to LA. It then sat there while it cleared customs, and was delivered finally to a dealer. We absolutely paid more because importing goods costs money.

It costs more money to the importer. The importer pays the tariff. In the case of a new Volvo, the importer was Volvo USA. If your cost as the customer was higher, then that's because Volvo USA chose to pass that extra cost to you, the customer. This scenario is different from Wolfbox. Wolfbox does not have an entity here in the US acting as an importer. They deceptively sell their items on a website that neglects to let the customer know that they are buying from outside the US. If that makes the customer the importer, then it puts the burden of tariffs on the customer without them even knowing they are importing a product. Very dishonest.

I guess we'll see what happens when the US Postal Service delivers my dash cam next week. Current tariffs on items imported from China are set at 145%. If Wolfbox listed me as the importer, and the US Postal Service tries to charge me $500.25 (145% of $345), I will just tell them I don't have it, refuse the delivery, and dispute the charge on my credit card. I will let you know what happens.

Ridiculous. Do your own research. Don’t blame the vendor because you didn’t.

If you do that, it’s fraud, and it’s on you.

There are plenty of people who feel like some websites hide the fact that they are not located in the US. Do a web search for "ZDA Express", and plenty of people feel like it's a scam that hides the fact that the item is shipping from China. The seller prints a shipping label with USPS, then the item seems to sit without activity for several days until it arrives from China, then ZDA Express delivers it to the US Postal Service. Don't worry, I will do my due diligence in the future. I've been buying things online since the 90s, and lately the Internet has gotten pretty sketchy. I've worked in the IT field for 30 years. I understand how things work.

On a side note, I had been trying to buy directly from the websites of Amazon Marketplace sellers instead of buying from Amazon. I had read that Amazon took so much of the profits, and felt like buying directly from the seller would benefit them. I could have easily ordered the dash cam from Amazon for the same price and had the protections that Amazon provides.

I’ve been a network engineer for 30 years. I assure you I know how things work. You seem to be looking for a conspiracy. Try not to take out your frustrations on others. You seem to need someone to blame.

I'm not sure who I'm blaming and what I'm blaming them for. I do know that I don't like being deceived. We'll see how it goes when the dash cam arrives. There's a reason I've never ordered anything from Alibaba, AliExpress, Wish, Temu, or any of the other foreign websites. Going forward, I'll probably stick with Amazon. Between having high blood pressure, high cholesterol, acid reflux, cancer, and type 1 diabetes, I can't take any more stress in my life.

Has anyone else ordered from the Wolfbox website? Nowhere on the site does it say that items ship from China. I received a Chinese tracking number, and it looks like it's stuck in California after two days. I'm just concerned they're going to try to charge me taxes or duties when they deliver it. It all seems a little shady.
I have ordered a couple items from their website. I ordered the G900 Pro and then ended up exchanging it for the G900 TriPro and then ordered a couple accessories for it and never had an issue. I had all my items in under a week and most of the time they shipped the same day I ordered them except for the TriPro which was a pre-order and I received that in under a week after it did ship. All of my items shipped from Mira Loma, CA.

I may have been the original guinea pig on this. Installed in 23' no issues so far. Any wiring questions. Just ask.

I just got mine installed. It seems to work great. I just wish I had known that my adaptive cruise control box would take up nearly a third of the field of view on the front facing camera. I think something could be 3D printed to allow the mirror to be mounted a little toward the driver side. Just an inch or so off center would probably get rid of the ACC box in the view. I was going to mount the front bumper camera on the grill, but ultimately ended up mounting under my bumper light bar. The rear camera was originally mounted above the license plate, but the clearance under the tailgate was tight. I ended up mounting it on top of my bed rack. The view is so much better.

This is my front camera view when the mirror is turned a little and then when it's in the optimal position for me to see the screen..
