So, is the wave ONLY a wrangler thing? No cherokee, patriot, liberty, etc.?
First day I brought it home, had about 13 out of 15 wranglers wave, but NO other jeep types...

So many jeep jeeps in canada, my city, your arm might get tired of waving lol. And i mean YJ, TJ, JK, JL and every few days i see a JT also. Not everyone waves, but quite a few still do, i'm guilty of missing a few but still getting some love out there.

Could change the title of the thread to read "Iowan's in Jeeps don't wave".
No one here has heard of it or knows about it. Just doesn't happen, no matter what you drive.

neighbors wave to each other, even if they don't really know each other, but others, meh, nope.
Bicycles, tricycles, motorcycles, Jeeps of any year, model, shape or size, Prius, Kia, Yugo, Renault, Terraplane, Duesenberg, nope, no wave.

Some of us cyclists wave (those of us in Lycra or serious mountain bikes), and most runners will wave at each other.

Yeah ....CJs and Wranglers. Sometimes modified Cherokees wave. If anyone waves at me, I wave back. If I’m paying attention I try to wave to CJs, Wranglers and Also 2 non Jeeps near me - Toyota FJ40 and Land Rover Defender 110. Both these guys wave and are very wave worthy. Worst thing is I wave at Jeeps when I’m driving my Charger. Lots of puzzled looks.

I have a JT and I miss half the jeeps that I pass. If I waved at every one, I would wreck. I have cornea dystrophy and ADHD. Bad combination for having to wave at every, hey look, a squirrel. I love chicken.

Rented a Gladiator in Kauai this week. Tons of Wranglers and a few Gladiators there. Majority are tourists so no Jeep waves. I tried waving at a few that I know were locals, e.g., Rubicons, older Wranglers, etc. No one waved. I think they all gave up because 1. you would be waving constantly and 2. more than half of the Jeeps are driven by tourists who aren’t aware of the Jeep wave. Just an interesting observation.

95% wave back. My wife got her JLU and is learning. She complains that she didn't notice it was a jeep. I yell at her, It's right in front of you !! what are you looking at if not the road in front of you !!!

I went to Kauai a couple of years ago, so no Gladiator. I DID rent a Mustang Convertible -- and then I found out the max speed limit on the island was 50mph!!! Well, i got to 50 REALLY fast, but I heard the cops are tough there so... A Jeep there is really practical -- some places you can only get to via Jeep.

What rental company rents the JT in Kauai?
I'm headed there in 2 weeks and would be awesome to rent one instead of a wrangler.

The only real Jeep (JT, JL, JK, etc.) drivers who don’t wave here in Atlanta are young chickies too busy looking at their phones to notice what is going on around them. It is also the typical hold on to the top, center of the steering wheel and raise your fingers while still gripping the steering wheel with your thumb wave. Probably trying to ensure their wandering steering box doesn’t cause them to drift into an accident...

...that was a joke, my box is tight.

another joke.
