I know I’m dumb for giving 27 thousand for a used 2022 jeep gladiator eco diesel. BUT
There’s a lot of dumb people that need to watch that clip

Not dumb at all. I paid a little more for a used ā€˜21 gasser. I thought the deal was pretty good for me.

I think we are coming to a head on these ridiculous prices. It's anecdotal, but the older people in my life don't want new vehicles because they hate all the complicated gadgets, and the younger people can't afford new vehicles.

It's probably a little click-baity, but I watch a few youtube channels that go around to dealerships and show all the lots absolutely packed with unsold inventory, and spilling over into their auxiliary lots. Nobody is buying at these inflated prices.

They do, mostly in December when you need a last minute Section 179 deduction because you earned too much this year. But outside of that, the average American is keeping their cars longer. Might be chicken and egg- higher prices or they last longer or both.

Worth mentioning- Trucks specifically are a major profit center for the automakers. Although shared model platforms are nothing new, body on frame remains far more affordable to build than unibody and increases in profit margins exponentially as you option them out- the same basic chassis can underpin a $40K NAPA parts hauler or a $100K+ Cowboy Cadillac. The only differences are a glorified plug and play to boost the bottom line.
