Hey, Kelvin here!
We went camping in a nearby mountain a while ago and took these photos.
Hope you like them!

It’s always good to see Jeeps in their natural habitat!

What is that RTT? I was sleeping on the mountain that day, the wind was very strong, making me uneasy and unable to sleep. I wanted to find something more stable.

It’s a Roofnest. It was one of the first ones they came out with 5 or so years ago. The corners are cracked but it hasn’t leaked (yet!). We have taken it all over North America. The problem for me is that I can’t sit upright in it and I’m 5’9”. I’m looking to probably replace it with a wedge design probably from AluCab as I’m looking to go to Iceland where it is very windy and a wedge design would handle it better but so far wind hasn’t been an issue.

One thing that I really like about it is that we can store our sleeping bag (queen size) and pillows in it so making or breaking camp is much easier.

Hardtop wedge or clamshell type tents definitely help with wind IF you point the shell into the wind. You'll still get fabric flapping around, but it's not as bad.

What sucks is when the wind shifts in the middle of the night and you're scrambling in the dark in your boxers trying to get your truck turned around because your tent entry has become a giant wind sail in 30mph wind gusts...

Thank you for your reply! The problem I've recently encountered is that if there's a lot of dew on the surface in the morning and I'm in a hurry to leave the campsite, I have to fold up the wet tents, which eventually get moldy. I've seen some people camping in the snow and ice who seem to just fold up their tents without doing anything; I don't understand why they aren't worried about this issue.

I have a great idea! If we combine it with how this works...

Interesting. Seems to be a common problem among that type of RTT. We're on our second Thule Basin with cracked corners (first one replaced thru warranty). I need to drill the end of the crack to prevent it from spreading more, then find a decal to place over them.
