This will be a slow build as funds allow and as I see a need for something to add. We purchased our first Jeep, a 2020 JLUR back in 22 and immediately LOVED the decision. We have friends who have jeeps and we love the outdoors and here in Arkansas there are plenty of creek crossings and waterfalls to go see and the Jeep helped us get to some remote places. Since having our 3rd child we have been longing for more storage on road-trips. Most road trips include us bringing along our camera gear as my wife and I are wedding videographers. So 4 cameras, tripods, drone, etc and luggage fills up QUICK! I had a hunch to start looking at Gladiators recently and well here I am. We traded the JLU in for a JT and couldn’t be more thrilled. I have already installed a DD Off-road all metal camper shell to ensure we have plenty of storage and also assist with carrying our rooftop tent for the few times we do go camping a year. I have a Rugged Ridge AmFib snorkel from the JLU that I need to install as well and will get to that soon. Hope to have many more mods in the near future.

Had a chance to wire some 12v plugs in the bed. Ordered this (2) cigarette plug from Amazon and I feel it turned out looking great. Wired it into the Aux1 switch for now and so we now have 12v for fridge or lights or for those monthly CostCo trips which we now can bring 2 12v fridges because the Gladiator has more room. Loving this Gladiator more and more each day.

Absolutely love Anvil. If I didn’t have a built Sting gray, I’d get one.

I have a 12v receptacle like yours that I pulled out of my JKUR that I need to mount. I have aux switches that aren’t being used AND my Dometic fridge is sitting in the house. I know my next project..

Sting gray is my favorite color. But I have 2 friends who have a sting gray JT. One a diesel and one with a 6.4 hemi from AMW.

Glad I could help with the motivation to install it!

I see you are in Arkansas too, where at? I’m in Heber springs.

I like the Sting grey, but Anvil is my all time fav. I do own a 2015 JK in Anvil though.

Nice! We are in NWA almost every month for weddings. We love to MTB too so bentonville is our jam.

And just like that it’s a CostCo and lumber day. Installed the 12v plug just in time!

$800 in lumber and a loaded down bed of groceries from Costco and somehow this thing got better fuel mileage than I’ve been getting… I’ve read some of the threads and posts that others have gotten bad fuel mileage the first few thousand miles, hoping that’s the case here. I barely felt the trailer behind the truck. So far it has paid for itself in terms of storage and being able to pull a loaded trailer. All we needed to do on the way home was hit a trail and we would have done the trifecta in one day:
Mall crawl/grocery getter
Lumber hauler
And unfortunately did not hit a trail

Ha! I was doing something similar with mine… hauling 800.00 worth of plywood for covering the walls in my new workshop/garage

That’s next for mine! Converting my carport into garage. So once I’ve got the framing done I’ll be loading it down with plywood for the siding. Btw sweet shop!

With our JLU, when heading out of town for a wedding weekend we always had to simplify our camera gear and decide whether or not to bring the little ones stroller and never had the opportunity to bring a fridge. Wedding weekends to northwest AR where we love to mtb proved an even tougher task, with gear, helmets, and such. I can say that ship has sailed. The Gladiator was so worth it.

Over a month ago I purchased the Bluetooth thing and the bypass cable along with the license for JScan to turn the auto high beam on and to have the ability for sway bar disconnect in 2wd and other useful tools. Finally found time to make that active. Pretty neat and also silly that it was not already activated from factory since i do have ACC and FCW. Was definitely missing that from our previous JLU

Excited to find some time to install this brake controller. It’s not often that I use a trailer that has brakes, but my job will require me to “test” trailer lights and trailer brakes occasionally. I renovate vintage Airstream trailers and I usually just borrow a family members truck with a built-in brake controller to make sure everything is in order once I wire it up. I won’t have to do that anymore with this Redarc controller. I’ve also always wanted to build out my own overland trailer so this specific one has a neat feature for towing trailers off-road. Suppose to be plug and play so hopefully it’s easy to install.

made some time to install the redarc tow pro trail, plug and play. Works great! It locked the brakes up on my dump trailer, couldn’t ask for more. I like the auto and manual features, really cool. Not that I ever have used or use the cig plug but I just didn’t want to get rid of it for that one moment, even though I do have power in the rear of the bed with 2 cig plugs… once installed I decided it was time for a tire rotation so went to work on that as well with the help from my “cowboy”. He just finished watching a cowboy movie so he turned into one lol. With his help and eventually help from the oldest we made quick work of the tire rotation!
