Even simple forest roads can have washed out sections, boulders rolled until the middle if the trail, downed trees, etc. Many times they look innocuous enough... until your oil pan has a hole in it. With our dummy light setup in the Jeep, you may not even know until you need a new engine too. "Make smart decisions" sounds like the pullout method to me. Easy enough in theory, but when you're in it that's the last thing on your mind. Protection is cheap, finding out you needed protection through experience never is.
You can always turn around and go back the way you came in……Just sayin’😉
And although I wouldn’t recommend it (Tread Lightly!!)….. some of ya’ll would blaze your own trail to get around it.

Nobody is forcing you to do anything….. You can’t possibly prepare yourself for everything. You can have all the skid plates & upgrades and still break something.

OP hasn't been back since teh initial post......
🤣😂 ….because the questions he asked…. don’t come with simple answers.

It’s far too over-whelming, especially for someone with minimal or no offroad experience.

Turning around isn't always an option. When you're 100 miles out a trail, sometimes you don't have the fuel to just back track. And again, the less experience you have the more likely you are to get in over your head. You watch the guy in front of you and think "this is easy" not realizing he has full belly skids. Fortunately the OP was smart enough to start there so he won't learn the hard way that engine skids are cheap compared to finding out you should have had one.

Or he's already lifted, full belly skids, on 35s and reading replies like "learn to wheel it stock" had him check out of his own thread....
