Hopefully they replace the current motor with something with more hp and torque and dump that transmission that doesn't know what gear it wants to be in. Was a tacoma fan boy up until I bought a 2016 offroad model

Logical render based on future Toyota EV release pic mated to Tundra updates. Looks like itā€™s going to get the 2022 Lexus NX 350 TT and hybrid. Unsure of the transmission. Also looks like itā€™s adding rear coil suspension and rear disc brakes. I have a 23 Tundra and itā€™s a practical and well equipped truck. Aka boring as fxx.

Still is a grandpa truck to me. Their marketing team is great. They have brainwashed all of their customers to think reliably on road == reliable off road.

Maybe the TRD pro turns up with double lockers also they have the new trim package coming where you can add steel bumpers etc for over landing

It'll be interesting to see what Toyota comes to the table with. When the third-gen came out, Toyota didn't really have much competition in that market and pretty much rested on their laurels. Now that there is some good competition in this market, we'll see if Toyota steps up to the plate. I put over 100k on a 2016 before getting the Gladiator. A lot of it rough miles on logging roads for my job with no breakdowns other than killing a u-joint on the rear drive shaft. It was a reliable truck but the engine is a little anemic and doesn't really get up and go until after 4k, the trans changes its mind about every half mile, drum breaks in the rear (looks like they fixed that finally), no room in the back seat, and very few, if any accessory ports (USB, 110 plugin, etc..,). Competition is good for the consumers so, I for one, am hoping Toyota hits it out of the park but we'll see. Either way, I have zero plans of getting rid of the Gladiator.

Agreed! They sell based on their products from 20 years ago, because they are mediocre at best today.

No convertible top and why would I want turd (Trd) written on the side of my truck? No, Toyota trucks still donā€™t get it.

So with with updates from everyone does that mean the Gladiator gets one this year ? And if they do when do you think they will show it off? Next month in Chicago or in the summer?
