Either way, looks fine, I like the clean look too. The only thing I remove is all the annoying dealer badging. HATE, I just paid you how much for a vehicle, I'm not going to be a billboard for you jokers too. The angry grill is a very much "to each their own" with me, but I hate how easy it is to get one of those, but hard to get a classic razor grill for the JT.

I recieved some "questions" today in a parking lot about why on earth i would remove the Mojave hood stickers and badges from my jeep. They were generally baffled at why i would do such a thing. This is my first jeep and i have removed badges and stickers from every vehicle I've owned. Is this something i can epect to encounter going forward? HAHAHAHA
Our 4WD buddy in our group came up with this sticker (tape) when we ran The Rubicon Trail. He had lots of people laughing during that 3 day run... lol..

On the other hand, I told my wife I looked at a Mojave - she asked if that was the one with the decal on the hood. I said yes - and she said I'd have to remove that if I ever got one.
So you have the respect of my wife LOL
This exact thing. Wife said you get a Rubicon you have to removed those gaudy stickers. I would have anyways for I like a cleaner look of vehicles without stickers or graphics. I get it!
Went with Sport Max Tow so no need for any hood sticker removal.

But... then how do people know you spent more money?

I only laugh about this because I lived around DC too long and this was clearly at the root of every Jeep conversation I got in to.

People always buy things for status and that's nothing new nor is there anything wrong with it. What kills me about it all is that so many Rubicons will never see so much as a dirt road but since the trim sells, they have no interest in letting any of the features that matter trickle down.

Yeah it's good for someone to pick one up in 5-10 years in good shape but [insert ususal gatekeeping off road features speech here]

Uh, no. If that was the case, my first car would not have been a RAMBLER. I buy what I like and think I can afford, don't give a rip about the rest.
I bought "down" and bought Overland because I like it, it fits my needs. And I put up with "Mojave is superior" stuff.
Our home - hardly status. very modest 1100 sq ft built in 1980 we've finished the basement on.
I was raised totally differently. Mother the product of depression-era parents who moved every couple of years or so looking for work. My mother's father was a hired hand, sometimes a tenant farmer. Their first home they owned had two rooms and a sort of basement. They added on to have a sleeping room, much of the work they did themselves. Mom worked cleaning houses when she could. Dad worked in a factory until they moved and closed down. Cars were whatever could be afforded and would run mostly reliably. Their first new vehicle came in 2010 and even that was modest. Rusty clunkers most of the time.
I drive AMCs - hardly status. Get a lot of jokes, and a lot of "so who made those? Chrysler?
There's nothing much here that's any showing of status unless you compare way down the chain.
I really never even consider that aspect. My garage looks like an episode of "Hoarders".
While most of the others in HS had Mustangs, Chargers, Road Runners, Camaros and so on, I drove my 4 door Rambler.
Today, I buy what I like and make it how I want it. I might ask "how does this look" now and then, but not to impress - but get ideas.

Maybe we should go back in time and get rid of hood trim names all together? Its a Jeep. Or would sales of Rubicons go down? (just kidding!)

Though there are many people out there with “Rubicon envy”. :P

I see a stock Rubi driving around and I am like..meh. There are TONS of stock Rubis out here in Vegas.

Then I see a Sport that has been lovingly built into a beautiful custom offroad vehicle and go wow!!!!!

Sorry didn't mean that as people always do, but that people always have. Showing off wealth or the illusion of wealth has existed for millennia.

I have a 2020 Gobi Rubicon and had a 2008 JK Rubicon and the 1st thing that I did was peel the Rubicon stickers off the hood. It's such a subjective thing and I feel that it looks much cleaner and meaner without the big lettering on the hood. I have purchased a Rubicon for many reasons, none of which was impressing others with the fact that it's a Rubicon.

I like badges, and I like "incorrect" badges even more if they go the right way

For example, I had a 67 Tempest Custom. I would have never made it a GTO clone, but I got all of the correct stock emblems right down to the OHC 6 engine callouts even though it was blatantly obvious it was not stock and had a V8

Like I love when you see a Jeep that's super built that has Willys badges or Islander or something
