Get the rear seat locks for sure!
Ebay or Amazon.

What exactly is the product here? My rear seats came with a lock in that position from the factory... ?

My ADVICE- get what you want and enjoy the experience! People suck and they will say anything.

The advice to drive it stock for a bit is sage advice. You'll understand what you really want and need out of your JT.

Not sure if you are married and/or have kids. More memories will be made with a vacation to Hawaii than 37s, 4 inch lift, regear, etc, etc. Food for thought if money is any sort of issue and you are planning on going down that path.

Probably not the most popular advice, but I kind of wish someone had convinced me to just drive it as-is for a while and see what you REALLY need/want.

The second I got my Mojave, I went nuts getting the Mopar steel bumpers in front and rear, heavy duty rock sliders, bed guards, AUX group, etc.

Those are all good things, but a year later, I kind of wish I had just chilled out a bit. The factory plastic bumpers aren't sexy, but they're fine for what I do (mostly commuting). The rock sliders are good parking lot insurance, but they haven't really come in handy yet, and they're only half useful as steps.

Meanwhile, I kind of wish I had dedicated more $$$ to the bed and making that a usable space. Right now, all I have is the spray-in bedliner (which rocks), and the Mopar tri-fold tonneau cover. But, other than that, it's just a really durable, awkwardly shaped box. I wish I had gotten the cargo rail system, and had saved some scratch for a nice sport bar, spare tire setup, and molle panels.

It's easy to get excited thinking of all the new toys and upgrades you want to do, but there's also nothing wrong with taking your time and let the priority of needs come to you rather than having everyone else tell you how to spend your money. :)
This is insightful and useful advice, and if I might add to it a bit - a lot of the impulse mods people add to Jeeps are heavy. Steel 17x9s, heavy 35s or 37s, steel bumpers, winches, racks, rock rails, armor, beefy suspension components - it is easy to scatter-shot a bunch of mods with no coherent plan and find yourself a thousand pounds heavier and still have use cases you want to pursue and aren't equipped for. If you want to overland camp, your path might be a lot different than if you want to rock crawl. Or mall crawl. Or tow a boat. Prioritizing your choices and having a plan can inform good decisions on where to spend money, and where to add weight.

I prefer OEM stuff.

For running boards, I really like the factory Overland ones that I put on my Mojave.

For wheels/tires, keep an eye out in the classifieds section for a set of Rubicon or Mojave take-offs. Also shop for JL Rubicon take-offs over on wranglerforum.com.
Screw the running boards. Buy a good set of rock sliders. You won't have muddy/wet pants when getting out of the Jeep. Have factories on my Overland and dislike them.

  • Go big or go home. On wheels that is. The Gladiator can fit 24's, but most would recommend a nice set of 22's. Chrome would really set off your red truck.
  • Don't do a lift. You'll probably never take it out on trails and if you do, it can damage your wheels and tires (see above).
  • The grille is where you establish your Jeep's personality. There are some cool angry and LED grilles out there that would really set your ride off. You be you.
  • Accessorize. I think www.imatool.com is running specials right now on various must-have accessories for your Jeep and the Jeep lifestyle. Black flat rimmed hats and tight Affliction t-shirts are like 50% off right now.
  • Even if you don't plan on using it, install a winch. A winch says you're a true Jeeper and can pull things out from other things. There's a convenient place to rest the hook on the bumper too.
Hope this helps!

What’s up Hoosier?! I am taking my time.
Definitely going to upgrade the sound system and put new rims and tires with them offset.

I’d like to do something with the hard top and doors, because I love getting naked.

... here is my priority list ...

1. Running boards
...
Why would the OP buy rock sliders when he wants running boards?

Unless rock sliders are needed for protection, there isn't any good reason to add all that extra weight.

Here is the info on the standard issue Rubicon/Mojave rock rails from the factory. I have them on my Mojave and like them. Another good thing is that the Weathertech splash guards are a direct fit and look great with the rails.

Factory Mopar Part * Zinc-Coated Steel * E-Coated Underlayer * DuraBull Bedliner Coated * 68341314AA, 68341315AA, Fits: All 2020+ Jeep Gladiators

You may have the chance to scoop some up on the local level in your area as many people remove them to go with aftermarket stuff. I'm not really a fan of factory style running boards. My buddy has them on his. Too bulky getting in and out with lots of dirt/snow/salt on the pants all the time.
