Creating My Own 3D Printed Glove Box Handle Emblems

I started searching today and was fairly shocked by the fact there’s no market for stickers or emblems or anything to go in that black hole on your handle. So I started doing my own work on creating a ‘Mojave’ badge but it had to have the correct font. I was able to take some photos and create SVG file I could then put into Blender and turn it into a 3D mesh and size it for the area I want in my truck. Then save it as an STL file to be 3D printed and roughly 1” by 8”. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know you could make an image a 3D file but now do.

Here is the STL file in creality. If everything works out as I hope I’ll share the results here in about 2 hours and will gladly share the STL for anyone that would like to put their own badge there.

Yeah, the face of the handle is oddly blank. Even my wife asked me why there was nothing there. Someone on Etsy makes wrangler ones. But I was surprised there wasn’t stickers or something online someone made.

This was the only thing I could find and I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend $40 on a badge. I do like it though!

Personally, I want to mount the small spikes that used to be seen on punk rock leather jackets to the panel above the grab handle.

But I'm afraid if the airbag ever deployed they'd call it premeditated.....

Worked perfectly! I might need to adjust the size down so it’s not as thick or as big, it’s a bit bigger than I really anticipated. I also didn’t think about adhering it, without a base you’ll have just 6 individual letters. ? The hard design part is done though, making changes is easy.

For the one I just made or something similar? Id be happy to print and ship them to anyone if they paid for the shipping and the cost of filament. $10 is probably a fair amount. The one I just printed would be a perfect tail badge if someone wanted that.
