Enjoy the heat derate the ecoboost has when worked hard, just like the EcoD. The EB may have a slightly larger margin of tolerance, but I have a friend who's EB will derate when pulling his 20' trailer up the I-17 phx to flag at 70 mph.

simply said, anything with a small mass engine and a turbo will adds lots of heat when forced to work hard. No replacement for displacement......
I’d be happy at 65 but from the posts here the eco diesel derates on that same run empty… which leads to my efforts and the efforts of others to solve the oil temp issues. I never derated myself though, however I live in a cooler climate and no big time mountains

I had 2 F150 3.5 EBs before buying my JTRD. Both were great trucks, and dead reliable. My 12 had 340,000 kms on it when I sold it to buy my 16 Lariat. They were great, but I LOVE my Gladiator diesel. Other than size, fuel type, and off road capability, the biggest difference is parts availability and cost. If anything goes wrong on the F150, parts are much more readily available and are likely going to cost less. Replacing the exhaust on my JTRD would cost a minimum of 7 thousand (yes, still under warranty, but just giving an example) if you could even order the part. The service manager told me that corporate told him he needed to, couldn't even order a ED replacement block until next June. Yikes.

Side note, I wish Stellantis made a rebadged Ram 1500 a Jeep Jtruck. I would probably be driving one of those instead of the Gladiator. The Ram Classic would be perfect as a J truck.

The ford is a 22 xlt fx4. Obviously they just like all other trucks cars boats sxs atvs and any man made things might have and can have problems. But the jeep I do have has had/ does have problems lol. For long distance travel it is not trustworthy. And I’m not gone yet so put ya damn torches down lmao. I still have the 4xe and that has not been a bad rig by any means. As far as time in the city I spend some but not not in what most would call a real city. Utica ny. Some in Syracuse ny. None in anything bigger. I’ll post some pics of the 150. Manly cuz someone said no lol
Get the 5.0L or the 7.3L all our ecoboost work vehicles hit the warranty and turned into lemons! We switched to chev's with 5.3's. the only ford thats lasted over 100k without issues was an older 5.0L. You wouldnt believe the issues with the 2.7l ecoboosts. I think all 5 of them got new turbos atleast once.
Use thicker oil for turbo engine. Most dealerships pour 5w20 in all vehicles.
I never have issues with my eb f150. Its always the user

The F150 has the highest depreciation of all the trucks, especially the day you drive off the lot. Never buy a new one. They are so common, so popular which means there are so many used ones for sale, there is your depreciation factor. I like my JTR because it not so common and a host of other reasons.

To each his own. I have a few friends that have various versions of the F150, they have become way too Karen Soccer Mom vehicle for me. And what the hell is all of that dinging when you start it up then start to back up???!! Scared the crap outta me, "What did I break!"
yeah prove your highest depreciation data on f150s. Are you talking base/ fleet models?

I’d probably buy a slightly larger gladiator with a twin turbo six for sure.

Congratulations! Do not mind these sour and salty people here who are jealous about other people's new rides!

Now if Jeep ever build a fullsize gladiator you will be back!
Who is jealous?

I drive what I want because that’s what I want, I don’t care what other people think.

I don’t get announcing you’re going to leave a forum

I don't mind him trading in for a F150, but he strikes me as the kind of guy who will see a GM Silverado in 6 months and want that shiny new thing, or a Toyota Tundra, or something else....some people just can't keep a vehicle long enough to be happy with it.

Here is a good one. I did a lot of research when my wife wanted a full size truck. We ended up getting a 5.7 Tundra. Long term resale is just better. The V6 turbo in the F150 is nice but terrible in fuel economy when towing. Turbos are always spooled up, this wise MPG then the Tundra V8.

Are there any supportable facts in this video? What is being used for value? CarGurus?
