Hi Glads,

I'm looking for the best camping solution for my Gladiator equipped with Decked drawers and Blackhorse roll bar.
I prefer a hard shell RTT but if it's not gonna happen then what do you recommend coz I'm new to the overlanding world??

Unfortunately you’ll have to ditch the roll bar for a rack unless they make a conversion kit for that roll bar.

Mount a rack to your hard top for the RTT if you want to keep the roll bar.
Max weight capacity I’ve ever seen for gutter mount roof racks is around 150lbs - the panels are fiberglass and just don’t have the strength. Not gonna be putting an RTT and human up there unless you get something that reinforces on the body like the Gobi setup. Even the Rhino that requires drilling maxes out at 220lbs.

If you're set on keeping the roll bar, look at a Rhino Rack Backbone kit to support the inside of the hardtop and then go with a Pioneer Platform or other roof rack to suit what you're looking for.

We did an install video on the RR Backbone and Pioneer Platform on our last giveaway Gladiator:

For the RTT, have you seen the new ARB Esperance hardshell RTT? The price is pretty decent for a hardshell:

I agree the gutter mount wont work on the fiberglass top. The rhino backbone is the way to go with a RTT on the hard top. Most hard shell tents are about 130 pounds. Lots of happy Jeepers out there using them. Not my choice I prefer my tent on a topper.
