Today at 603 miles on the odometer the check engine light on my Mojave came on, first thing I checked was the gas cap and it was on securely. So not sure why it is on and I texted my salesman and he is going to talk to the service department in the morning.

No fun, sorry that’s happening. I know how frustrating it can be when something new doesn’t work right.

a bit more info may help us help you ?‍♂

gas or diesel?

any mods?

any driving anomalies?

normal fuel location? (Trusted station)

did it happen when pulling a camper or anything?

are you following any break in period suggestions or guidelines?!

No use getting too worried until they find what the CODE is that it has stored.
Mine came on at about 56 miles, less than a week.
There's nothing that can be done until they connect and get the code - or you go to a parts store and have them read the code for you.
Could be a simple transient thing, who knows. No one, not yet.

Funny thing, I drove my 2020 for a few miles with the cap off and the light never came on!

Try it under load with heavy acceleration. On ramp or uphill rapid speed increase.
Also ask your dealer if yours got the new flash from the Z37 TSB.

I did that this morning on a couple steep hills and a couple on ramps to the highway the engine sounded good no unfamiliar knocking so I will keep an eye on it, The good thing its a leased vehicle and usually I only put 6000 miles on during any of my leases.

Of all the things you will blow your money on with your Jeep, one of them should be a cheap $20 OBD2 codes reader you can get off of Amazon. Save you a lot of worrying.

That "recall" is only for certain VINs and doesn't apply to all. It didn't apply to my 2022.
It only impacts 32,000 2021 and 2022 models, so definitely not all.
It's for a CEL and throttle body light condition AND causes a "limp mode" speed limited of 25 mph.

Doubtful yours has that as dealers are supposed to apply all recalls before a vehicle leaves the lot - unless yours came out before the notice. On the other hand - Jeep has contacted owners who have vehicles involved in this.
It's pretty easy to plug your VIN into the NHTSA site or other sites out there to find recalls for your vehicle.

In general -
The light will often be turned off after a couple of cold start/button start cycles where the issue doesn't still exist.
So, if it was like mine, for example, recording a misfire condition, but that condition went away, the light will be out after a couple of subsequent starts without problematic misfires.
However, the code will likely STILL be stored as a permanent code until it's removed.

You are flying blind until you get the code read by an auto parts store, or buy a reader and DIY or go to the dealer. It's all speculation, all guessing at this time and that's hardly helpful (but makes people who guess or speculate feel good)

Here's a sampling of what's involved - PCM, old number, new number, TSBs, and recall numbers
