Use coupon code "litebrite" and you'll save $33 on the price of the Taser mini.

I always check Northridge and try that code. It's good for up to 20%. Doesn't work for AEV stuff though...
Thank you for the CODE!!!
I ordered it today.

Thanks for all the information everyone. You guys are awesome. So far, not hearing any negatives.
It's got a ton of features built into it but I ended up returning mine got tired of the check engine lights popping up even I cleared them. Maybe I had a defective one who knows

I had both the taser and the jscan, sold the taser, jscan is easier to use, doesn't need to stay plugged in like the taser and is wayy cheaper, jscan uses an app on your phone. if you have a taser and go to the dealership you have to unplug it, just my 2 cents

JTRD here - bought the taser mini from a forum member - no problems what-so-ever. Upgraded s/w to get the 3-honk removal (note only removes it on drivers door). Works great and no issues/codes.
You can setup non-live options and then remove it like the JScan. It’s so small and unobtrusive though, it almost makes no sense to remove it. The live functions are definitely worth it.

If you only want features Jscan can handle, then yea that is probably a better way to go. But if you read the thread, the majority of the features the OP actually wants can not be done with Jscan.

And like mentioned above, if you only want the features jscan CAN do, you don't have to leave the taser plugged in, and it's a single self contained solution.
It doesn't require an app on a $500 smart phone to work.
It doesn't require special adapter cables to work.
And it doesn't require a 3rd party electronic device they don't make or sell, and won't even say for sure if most out there will work with it or not.

Now, white you are waiting, go on Etsy and there are a few people selling 3D printed mounts that work way better than zip ties. I use one that mounts using an existing screw behind the dash, but there is someone else making one now that just uses a magnet. Havent seen any reviews of that one yet, but seems to me if you want to go that route, just glue a rare earth magnet to the tazer and be done with it.

It's not terrible to remove and install, so I opted to not get the extension cable.
Also, to me, that is a sign that something was plugged in there, so if you have a Jerk Dealer, it could cause them to ask questions if you have a warranty issue.
Its not about hiding the fact that you use a Tazer so much as it is that they may blame its presence for them having trouble reading certain things.

My dealer told me that they have no problems with me having it. But if I come in with a problem and it is solved by unmarrying the tazer and removing, then they will charge me for that work.

Also, they said that if they have trouble scanning the truck and have to remove it they will charge me for that labor.

These are all reasonable things. I know the latest firmware is supposed to allow the factory scan tool to work properly while its installed. But why even bother.

If you want the dealer to do any diagnostic on your truck, just remove it and return the settings to factory.

Re it not being terrible to remove. I'm 54 and in good shape. I run, I bike, I rock climb, I lift weights. But I'm still 54. It sucks to remove. If you are 20, then have at it. But I dont enjoy lying on my back in the drivers footwell. My clothes get dirty. I need a head lamp to see things. It just generally sucks.

I will note, maybe it's just me but I can't get the winch idle control to kick in.
I'm not making excuses for them but its not necessary anyway. I did the math in a thread on stand alone batteries for winching from a real trailer hitch and concluded that a $130 starting battery was good for somewhere between 20 and 40 full length pulls before needing to be recharged.

In summary, unless you are recovering multiple people (as in 20 people) then its unnecessary.

Drop ZAutomotive a line that you can't get it to work. With me it is not turning off the number plate reverse lights. I was running their newest software and there was still a small glitch again. Can happen from time to time. They are friendly and helpful. They might also be able to tell you that there is a silly step or something not noted. Do you have that function bound to a hotkey(steering wheel controls)?

Great advice. Their printed/pdf instructions are terrible. Really bad.

Their YouTube videos are helpful, but there aren't enough of them covering enough topics.
