Wanted to see if anyone would be interested in taking my spot at the Jeep Academy event in Moab this Friday - 10/21.

I believe the all day event cost something like $327.

Previously went to the Ocotillo event and had a blast. This is the one I was looking forward to, but tore my Achilles and simply can't make it. Hoping if I find someone interested, Jeep will work with me to transfer the spot.

Please reach out if interested. If you leave a contact number, that's probably the easiest way for me to communicate.

Wow, good luck with the recovery on the achilles. I had mine surgically repaired, completely removed from the heel, the heel abraded to create a new spot for it to attach, and then reattached with an anchor. It was a really long recovery, but it was worth it.

Appreciate it. Yes, going to be a long recovery. Got surgery with screws in the heel. Trying to just take it a day or week at a time ;). Glad to hear you had a successful recovery. Probably even more patience on the other side too huh? :)

Update: Just heard from Jeep Academy. Apparently, they're not able to facilitate a transfer at this point. Bummer. Well hope those of you going have a great time.

Yeah, I was completely off of my right foot for a month, then started rehab that was basically just rotating the ankle around for a month while seated, then 3rd month was a rocker boot with a huge heel lift and crutches. 4th month was less of a lift and no crutches, 5th month was just the boot, with some careful daily walking indoors in a tennis shoe. 6th month was attempting to walk normally, 7th month I started jogging. I didn't reach the ability to run over a jog until a year, and couldn't sprint until 18 months. It's been 2.5 years now and I stretch and strengthen religiously on both legs to reduce the odds of a reoccurance a decade from now, hopefully. I'm about 99%, I can sprint and jump, but if I try to "train" for running like I used to when I was competing, I get some tendinitis that flares up. But if I keep it to only running 4 or 5 days a week and only for modest distances, it doesn't bother me. Without surgery (or more than 40 years ago), I'd be basically maimed, so it's a pretty positive result.

I know right? What’s the big deal? I don’t get why they couldn’t just let someone else slip in. It’s not like it’s a college course or something.
