That's true, when the Canbus was introduced then that's when reprogramming and resistors had to be added. The older TJs and before those jeeps don't require any of it. When the JK was introduced it had the Canbus system and that's when it became a issue.You can program for LEDs and not get the warning on the dash but without resistors the turn signals will hyperflash still. Most of the time you have to do both or have the resistors built in. I used to be a vendor and sold led lights a few years back and it was always a issue and a discussion with the newer jeepsIf you purchase correctly and review applications, all LED assemblies built for non-LED vehicles come with resistors. The hyperflash seen is because the system does not recognize the lower resistance of the LED assembly/bulb. Been mucking with LED's for years between my cars and bikes. Wasnt as big an issue until everyone went to canbus.
