It’s interesting to see y’all leave your trailers. We have thought about this but the idea of a $30k+ trailer being taken is ?- we understand that’s what insurance is for…. But having seen too many enclosed trailers disappear from job sites- these off road trailers would be too easy.
Ours was only 7k+ before the tent. But I take some pretty significant steps to make sure it’s there when we get back from day trips.

Our trailer was 5k, probably 8k with all the gear but I get your point. The tailgate gets padlocked, so does the hitch, and then a chain through the wheels. If someone really wants to get it they can, but at some point I have to be willing to enjoy the hobby and stop worrying. As I've found out you can't leave stuff out. The only other option is packing up every time you go out.

Sorry I should have thrown in- looked into patriot and turtle back trailers….

you both nailed it-the construction trailers I have seen walk have had pretty extensive tongue locks and hardened chains through the tandem axles…. If they want it, they want it.

we usually leave a cheap- $30-40 single man tent as a camp spot place holder to minimize loss… and spot hijack conflict…

do you guys have AirTags or any other trackers on your camper trailers?

I’ll leave it at the fact that I go to pretty extensive lengths. :) They would need to know which specific trailer they were planning on taking, then return with the necessary supplies. By then, we’re back from our day trip. Most would move on to an easier and more valuable target.
