During a heavy rain the rear top had water dripping inside in the middle of the rear window. Dealer stated that the rear roof seam was the source of the leak. I fully expected the rear window default answer from the dealer. I couldn't see a crack or issue with the roof and didn't try to recreate the leak either. But next Tuesday they are replacing the roof and installing a new window under warranty. Did a search and didn't see any roof replacement posts.

I thought a new rear hard top section came with the rear window already installed?

Dealer said they hope to find a window installer the same day as roof replacement. I guess they come separate.

UPDATE: Got new roof, rear window, and no leaks. After getting Gladiator back, took it to car wash and gave a good cleaning, no evidence of any leaks.

I too have a window on order. Hopefully it won’t be repeated.

im wondering if the urethane seal breaks down / becomes brittle in the heat of the summer, then fails in the rainy season- fall through spring for me in the PNW.

My thoughts are that the rear window is designed so it has flex and not a rigid setting for when the roof is removed ( I have never removed my roof) and with the flex the sealant seperates or my fear the top actually cracks where the window mounts

Makes sense. Bottom line IMO, is you’d thinkby now Jeep would be able to figure out how to design a window that doesn’t leak……

It may be to much to hope for but maybe Jeep should just find a fix and recall all tops like Ford did when they stepped up

Urethane takes a lot of flex to cause it trouble. It does "set up" but not hard.
It's still flexible years later. I've used urethane to set door windows in their "shoes" or holders, and used it (and butyl) with windshields.
It's a beast to cut once cured in part because it's not a solid object.

My top doesn't flex - it should not flex. The body doesn't flex, the frame does and the body is mounted on rubber hydraulic mounts.
I've had the top off and on multiple times, can never see where it gives at all. When setting it back down in place, there's no flex to it. Even trying to lift up one corner results in the other side lifting as well.
If there were to be any flex at all - urethane would absorb it. No way that top flexes enough to break a seal. (unless you have some troubles.
