It's been forever since I updated my Tazer, so I went to unplug it and ended up unplugging a wire harness that I can't seem to find where it goes. It's on a short leash and maybe I just need more light, but it has nothing to do with the Tazer. Attached are photos

I can't seem to find the connection for it and what it does.

So, maybe this was never connected to begin with, it's not stock connected port? I'm on youtube and I don't believe I have a trail brake controller.

No… it’s what you plug into the brake controller when you get one.
It’s really convenient.

The end you have.. plugs into this:

What I linked plugs into the trailer brake controller box.

makes for an awesome no splice 20min install ???

Appreciate the quick replies, I haven't modified anything. So, I assume that this is disconnected from the factory with the option of buying from the link you provided and having it connected? I just want to make sure I don't have something that is disconnected that should be connected from the factory.

I could've swore I disconnected this harness when fiddling with my tazer. But, then again maybe not.

Mine was taped to the “wall” by the obd2 port? Maybe they just didn’t tape yours up as well.

I posted a link to the redarch version- though I’m pretty sure that’s who makes the MOPAR unit…. The Mopar one is like twice the cost. (If you ever go down the road of hooking one up).

It's not "disconnected" from the factory - it's not connected because there is nothing to connect to.
When you buy a trailer brake controller and install it, that's where it plugs in.
The mopar trailer brake controller is a direct plugin to that port.
Others, like Redarc, Tekonsha, etc. have harnesses for their controllers that connect to that.
NO Gladiator has anything plugged into that from the factory.

Tekonsha makes the MOPAR unit. The other end of their wiring harness is identical to the MOPAR controller's harness connection at the box.
Redarc has a nice controller - and has harnesses that connect to that - one you need to switch two wires around to make it work, however.
I have a thread on how to make the Redarc harness work with this - part numbers and all if I recall.

which two wires need to be switched around and why? Can you post the tread? I didn’t switch anything when I installed my in-laws redarc.

I think the newer redarc harness is corrected for the gladiator. I saw several videos where a mod was necessary but the latest redarc install video says its plug and play. I did not have to change anything during my install this spring.

This was back in 2020 when I had to switch things around, I also, like Donovan suggested, believe that REDARC has since made a JT specific harness.
I believe back then we had to use the RAM harness and switch two wires.

Redarc's wiring system -

Just spent a couple hours installing the Redarc kit in the 12v spot. Finally got everything together, and went to plug it in to the harness...... I can't for the life of me find this. Even had a mechanic buddy look.

Any tips on where they might have hidden this thing? Yes, I have the trailer-tow package, and have all the plugins for lights/brakes on the bumper.

It's taped to a larger harness making it appear as part of that harness. Connector could be sort of in behind kick panel. It's there on all JTs regardless of packages. It takes a good light and feeling around up there. Unless u r agile it won't be easy to get eyes on it. Look under tape.
