I have some 6” KC hilites halogen and I wanna install them on my new bumper. Can I use the factory fog light wiring harness? My original fog lights are halogen. The kC lights are 100 watts.

I went ahead and hard wired everything separately. I tried to wire a light bar to the factory harness as well. The light bar would flash on once. Then go dead. So I hard wired that light as well. Now at least I can run them both with the high beams and not have them shut off.You probably could cut the factory harness and figure out which one is hot or ground or whatever but you may run into voltage issues or even burn out your new kc lights. Maybe ask one Diode Dynamics or another company about aftermarket harness adapters
I think if you wire a relay into the harness, it should work. Just use the existing hot wire as the switch wire on the relay. Should be fine. I just had the full relay wiring harness already. So I hooked it up. Wish I could afford the led kc lights. lol. Mine are halogen and they are ok. They are spots and they shine a nice circle pretty far ahead. I have a 14 inch light bar inside the bumper. It light everyone thing up as far as my head lights do. But much brighter. It’s great for night riding. I can see deer almost 200 yards ahead of me.I did the same as you inquired about earlier with smaller KC's when I changed bumpers and I had halogens from factory as well. The computer did not like the additional draw of the higher wattage bulbs, and shut the fog light circuit light down after flashing it two or three times. I'm going to either replace the KC's with leds or wire relays into circuit so the lights see full battery power when I turn them on. I tried JScann, and nothing changed when I changed those settings either.
Call KC, these are listed as JK but they look like they'll workI have some 6” KC hilites halogen and I wanna install them on my new bumper. Can I use the factory fog light wiring harness? My original fog lights are halogen. The kC lights are 100 watts.
