I know this could be like asking what’s the best wheel or tire, but didn’t know if there’s a general consensus of which of the wireless adapters were better than others?

I have an older Ottocast and I think it’s giving up the ghost. I got a year out of it across a couple of cars so I don’t feel bad. Thinking I’d like one that has video now though.

Looks like Ottocast makes a video one Carlinkit… and?

Was about to do a write up about this.
Not sure about the video specific capabilities but if you are comparing the two Ottocast makes a way better unit than Carlinkit. I had the Carlinkit that I was about to set on fire because the thing couldn't go 2 miles without a reboot. I picked up the Ottocast and it's been flawless! Both were plugged into the console port.

I was leaning towards the Ottocast. Have a couple of trips with the wife and figured for that and waiting in parking lots the one offering video seemed cool. When you go on Amazon there are 400 versions of seemingly the same item with just as many prices. So I was hoping someone did the dance already and could say hey just grab this one.

I will narrow it down to Ottocast I guess - thanks! Which one did you get?

I use the v.2 Carlinkit and I’ve had pretty good luck with it.
My previous iPhone X would occasionally act up, but the iPhone 14 has been rock solid.
I didn’t know you could send video with any of the adapters…

Yea it’s a bit newer now. The cheaper ones have Netflix and YouTube built in only and for a little more they basically run it’s own OS and have google play to download many apps like Hulu, Disney, etc.

Actually, carlinkit has released T-box plus. It supports watching Youtube or Netflix on the car screen. I saw its memory is 4+64GB, it definitely run faster than other AI Box. (using the pro code MBF can get the best price;), I saw it in other forum). Hope that can help you.

How is it that you only have 3 messages on this forum and they are recommending the same product?

When he had the winky emoji at their product being cheaper and touting the RAM (when it is not in fact cheaper and has same ram as all of them now) I knew it was going to be a really helpful contribution….
