I'm looking for a wireless Apple CarPlay adapter that is reliable and compact. What are you guys using?

One thing to keep in mind. The USB ports stay hot for about an hour after the vehicle is off and you exit the vehicle and will reset if you open the door again. This will cause your phone to constantly try to connect to the adapter if you're still in bluetooth range. A coupe options here you can do:

1. Turn your Bluetooth off while you're in range of the adapter
2. Unplug the adapter
3.Install a manual on/off switch in line with the adapter
4. Do the fuse mod
5. Buy an adapter that that can sense the car is off

I had used the carlinkit options for years and have recently switched to Ottocast. It's much quicker and more reliable. Their mini is absolutely tiny too...https://www.ottocast.com/products/ottocast-mini-cube-3-0-wireless-carplay-android-auto-adapter

Also highly recommend doing the fuse mod. https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/making-center-console-usb-switched.55765/
I Also use ottocast mini with the angle adapter but will be doing th fuse mod. My phone always tryin to connect when I'm in the garage

I ordered this in the beginning of September: Amazon.com: 2025 Upgraded Wireless CarPlay Adapter& Android Auto Adapter, Mini&Stable CarPlay Wireless Dongle for iOS 10 Android 11 and Above(Black) : Electronics

It works, in a purely limited sense. On our road trip to UT to Glacier NP, the music would start to "skip" or pause without any input from the user. I suspect the long run time made the device s**t the bed and/or overheat. We put it in the center console USB to prevent blocking the other ports on the dash.

On the way home I finally yanked it and went back to cords.

My wife and I will switch who's phone is connected any day of the week. These wireless CarPlay devices suck at being able to rapidly change sources. We had one years ago and it didn't play nice with multiple connections, and the technology hasn't changed.

Sounds unfortunate... My wife and I both have ottocast mini in our cars and it switches seamlessly between phones.
