Does anyone have a review on the:
SkyJacker 2.50-Inch Metal Coil Spring Spacer Lift Kit with Shock Extensions
I'm not a serious off road guy - a few trips to the dudes in Michigan is about the most technical stuff I do. Installing the lift mostly so I can get 37's under the rig to achieve the look I like. I will also be periodically towing my heavy boat and heavy enclosed 4 place motorcycle trailer with my rig: 2020 Glad Overland. I had planned to put the Mopar 2.5" and the leveling kit but the Skyjacker is soooo much less expensive that I felt I need to at least research it. Additionally, I'm concerned about rubbing issues with the wheels and tires and plan re-gear to regain the mechanical advantage lost the to the larger tires. Any advice helps please.

I was also wondering about this with my sport and Mopar lift. Would it be enough with sway bars disconnected and stock fenders?

The MOPAR kit is only a 2" lift. I went with the Skyjacker lift but I turned it into basically the MOPAR lift by adding the upper and lower arms. Mine is the diesel so I had to get the diesel specific kit and with my added weight in the rear I am having to get longer springs for the rear installed. I am on 35s and still have to change out my rims to get them away from the sway bar to keep it from rubbing.

I was more interested in adding it to the Mopar lift as I have 35s now but am going to go 37s next time and either need more lift or higher fenders. I've been going back and forth for weeks.

I don't know if the 2.5" springs would give you enough for the 37s. That is only giving you an added .5", you may need to go up even more but I don't know if you would just need to replace the MOPAR lift.

I ran that exact kit with 35's for a while and it worked great on the street, but not wheeling above dirt roads maybe. Those 37s will effectively relocate your rear fender flairs without extended bump stops though. My 35's did that...lol.

If you’re planning to tow after putting 37s on, first thing you’re going to need to do is re-gear! Think about starting to pedal up hill from a stop on high gear. Exact same thing. You will lose all your torque and power. i bought mine from a guy that had 36s on and wanted to tow his 6k ski boat and just didn’t think it had enough power. I think you’ll be pretty disappointed if you don’t do that first.

That said. I have a 2.5” rough country front and .75 spacer lift in the back. Has worked been great for me and retained the factory ride. Clearly you can see by the pic the 36s are off. Too much hwy driving….

I have the 2.5" Skyjacker on my Mojave. Absolutely no complaints about the kit. Also added adjustable track bar and LCA brackets. Clearing 37's on 22x12s easily

Beautiful Builds! Thanks for all the comments! Ordered the 2" BDS lift with shocks, JKS adjustable track bar, Teraflex adjustable LCA's, Falcon fast adjust 2.2 steering stabilizer.

Currently trying to decide on 4.88 or 5.13 gears. ordered 37" tires. At 65 mph looks like the 4.88 will run 2881 rpm and the 5.13 will run 3028 only a 147 rpm difference.

Most forum guys have gone the 4.88 route, My install guy says he's installed 90% 5.13's in the newer Jeeps and no complaints from customers.

Any advice on gear choice appreciated! Thank you all again!

5.13s were my choice. That data is not quite correct, and I am guessing it comes from that old Jeep chart that is floating around. With 37s at 70mph and the 8 speed you are looking at around 2100-2200 rpm. Out little V6's sweet spot is about 2,400 rpm on the highway to stay in gear and get respectable fuel economy. If you have any gear at all or tow anything, 5:13s for sure.

I think it just depends on expectations. I towed our boat with 37s and 3.73s and it did great! I have lightweight 37s though and 17” rims. I didn’t go on the interstate, but it did fine on highway. 60-65mph speeds.

I have the 2.5 skyjacker spring lift on mine. Could probably go higher with the 37s but that’s just preference. Not needed.

Short distances a couple times on flat land to the lake, probably won’t have long term affects. To do anything more than that and you’ll be prematurely replacing your transmission, maybe driveshaft and get WAY less out of your engine due to how hard it be would working.

You severely reduce the tow capacity as you increase wheel size. Have a long incline or get caught in stop and go traffic through Chicago and you probably also overheat.

Can it be done, sure. Just make sure to sell the truck by 60k miles and let the next guy wonder whyTF his truck sucks!!

Should it be done? Nope.

Well, there is a steep incline on the way and it did fine, but I get what you are saying. My truck has 84k on it and I bought it new. Our boat is in dry storage so I rarely have to tow it. I’ve towed it maybe twice.

I just try to offer other opinions because I know personally I have done mods on vehicles that everyone on forums says “oh it’s a must or it made a world of difference” and I was disappointed after spending the money.

I hear you @Jbruss08, wasn’t trying to sound like a condescending dick, reading it back I kinda did…it comes natural to me.. ?

I’ve overdone it once or twice too. Rented an backhoe earlier this year that tested the limits. 10 miles @ 45 mph was all I did. What you describe is probably fine. For a guy that’s looking to tow a camper, he’s probably got a longer path in store and would be in a bit of trouble down the road….

It’s all good! I think there are people that overestimate what the truck can do.
We looked at campers and ultimately decided it’s just not for my Galdiator to do. Unless it’s a very small camper I wouldn’t feel comfortable with it. I’ve seen too many rollovers and I know how the wind moves the jeep around. We have 7000lb towing but still. Those camper salesmen will tell you you can tow a 6800lb one but I just don’t trust it.
