Maybe strap the giveaway to the trailer and pull it forward a bit. Some people just can't back up a trailer to save their own life.
Yes, definitely. I can see someone backing over the edge of the short block wall or running into the posts of the lean-to or whatever.
I need to just pull it forward a bit anyway because the tires have settled into the ground about half their sidewall or a bit more. May as well get it out of those "holes". (anything sitting on the ground here will be buried in 5 years and you just keep jacking things up and shoveling more rock and dirt under and set it back down until next time)
I need to move my trailer out of the way, may as well do it all at once and like you suggest, strap the car to the trailer, pull it forward, disconnect, and finish moving the trailer.
Where to put my trailer while someone drives down the neighbor's driveway to get back to my shop, and then turn around a long rig, though - I may have to put my own trailer in the yard somewhere for a while. One reason I have a front receiver is there's no room to turn around back there. Not with the steep grade, and limited clear distances.

I have a decent come-along/puller, but the problem is you have to disconnect, unwind the cable and reconnect at least 4 times loading a car. So you have to block the car from rolling back, disconnect, shorten a chain, run out the cable, reconnect, pull again until you run out of cable, rinse, repeat as they say.

It's how I got it on and off my other trailer years ago. You have the length of the ramps, then 18' of trailer to pull it up, or let it down from.

Definitely an interesting use, I'm sure it can be done safely with proper setup. this got me thinking about winching in general. I have compiled some basic but very important winching information. if you think i should post this in a new thread, please let me know. also, if there is more information you think should be on here i will update. this is for basic knowledge for all to stay safe.

I watched a YouTube video of a guy pulling a large tree over by it's roots, with multiple snatch blocks. I even think he was using several ropes too.

The power of levers and pulleys....... what was the saying centuries ago, give me a long enough lever and...........
And there's the Aussie who pulled his rig sideways and backwards out of a ravine. That was just plain cool to watch.

Got another email from the fellow in CO who is sending his Iowa friend to get the car. His friend is borrowing a trailer from work - whatever that means. Have no idea on the trailer or the capabilities of the trailer.
Anyway, plan on taking photos of the process, likely as suggested by the responses here, and show how it works out.
Thankfully I've got everything needed in my JT, and have other stuff in my own trailer's tool box and lots and lots of pieces of chain, straps, hooks and so on, so won't be short on any supplies needed.

Worked like a charm. The other fellow reached through the window of the car to guide it up the ramps and onto the trailer while I used the wireless remote to watch how it was going onto the ramps and trailer meaning if car was staying centered. I could easily control the speed of the pull while watching the car way away from my truck. Love the wireless remote!

Took two shackles to get the snatch block sitting horizontally due to the shape of his trailer frame, etc.
