Looks really nice. I just made simple storage drawers out of aluminum and abs plastic.

That looks super clean. Where did you get the abs plastic? I use lexan on almost a daily basis building guards for machines but never have seen abs sheets like that.

I got all my materials from a local metal shop and plastic shop. They also cut it into the custom sizes I needed.

All I had to do was bolt everything together like ikea furniture.

I always think I have good design and fab skills … and then I see something like this and I say “Nope I don’t!” Well done! Attention to detail on the wood is sharp.

Really nice Greentree! I am in a long process of building a kitchen slide with sink and Partner cook stove in it, I’m doing it with a single four foot 500 lb. slide, but it also has to be a sleeping surface on top when done, and refrigerator and a porta pottie also have to fit, just finished mounting the fridge above the driver side wheel well. Sometimes I wish the fridge was smaller and at other times larger. Your coffee table lift is awesome and something I might use. The 22” cook stove takes up a lot of space and I am trying to keep weight down as much as possible, like sink will fasten directly to slide, and stove will also. Thanks for posting, every kitchen slide I see improves my vision!……Jack

Glad I can help. I looked at so many builds before I started building mine. I got so many ideas from all them and figured out what fit my needs. If you do the coffee table lift at the back of the drawer like I did you’ll have to cut a section of the top out to clear the corner of the bed. It has to be cut at an angle also so it doesn’t hang up when opening or closing.

Incredible. A couple questions:
What is the finish on the boxes, and why is the middle drawer opening inward instead of out, and does the faucet get connected after the drawer is extended, and if not do you have pics?
Again that's one piece of kit and well finished.

The boxes are sprayed inside and out with raptor bedliner. The hardwoods are finished with table top epoxy. The faucet get connected with quick connects after the drawer is open. The reason that the other drawer opens out towards the inside is because if you opened it out the front you would have to make sure to fold down the faucet on the sink and because it makes for a cleaner look with the drawer faces.

I wanna know more about the XJ in the background. I’ve always loved that rare colour.

I use extruded aluminum to build machines at work and took some inspiration from a build I seen on here and some others I had seen online and built my own drawer system with a water tank against the cab. I used an electric ball valve to open or shut off the tank and rigged up a safety where my water pump can’t be switched on without it being open. I ran my lines from the pump to quick connects so that I can run water to my sink or to a water heater for showers. The drawer on the left is my kitchen drawer. I used a folding rv faucet and collapsible sink to try and be as conservative with space as possible.

Above the sink is a utensil drawer. I also wanted plenty of counter space for food prep so I used coffee table lifts for the biggest part of the drawer so I still had plenty of storage without sacrificing the counter space. I used ambrosia maple on the drawer faces and ambrosia maple with a strip of walnut for the countertop. I have also put rechargeable under cabinet lights on the bottom of the lifting section so that I can easily see everything at night when I need to grab something.

The drawer on the right is just a big storage drawer for all my gear and tools I like to keep on hand. I used 500lbs locking slides on both drawers and I should never have to worry about overloading them. The drawers are made out of 3/4 maple plywood and the top deck is made out of 1/2 maple plywood. I used raptor liner to coat the inside and outside of the drawers and the top and bottom of the top deck so that it can handle plenty of abuse.

If there’s enough interest I may consider building custom drawers systems like this for sale and if I do that then I will do a write up with the step by step process.

I’m interested. I’m up in Northern California.
let me know what we’d need to do. I’ve had some ideas, tried the 8020 route, even plywood but it just hasn’t worked well for me.
thanks

Got a link to the epoxy? Did you have to hand sand it afterwards or just apply and forget?
