There is tape over the drain plugs. Makes them hard to find by feel.

That makes sense, I think I'm going to see if I can push something through the drain tube so I can pin point them.

Please send that rain down to South Texas

We could use a few days of constant downpouring but unfortunatly there is none in sight anytime soon.

Thankful the overnight fan seemed to make a big difference. Also it helps that we're up to 85° and only 33% humidity - as of my noon break its nearly completely dry as far as I can feel - but need to make sure it penetrates to the padding.

Padding (jute) typically will not dry unless removed and set out. Mold is a common problem if it is not properly dried out.

I got caught in an unforecast rain storm on my first beach trip. I, of course, left the entire top back on Emerald Isle and had taken a ferry to South Core Banks so there was no way to get back and no structures on the island to park under. I pulled out my Shibumi and set it toward the wind So the parachute material blew over the bed of the truck. While I was shocked how well that luckily worked, I may head over to Mopar to check out the rain cover mentioned above.

As someone mentioned above, I guess it is a rite of passage. I just didn’t want that in the first month. I bought it to drive on the beach to surf fish so it was going to happen sooner or later. The sand vacuumed out very well too.

back in the day , lets call it mid 90's I drove the CJ from Miami to Orlando with 8 dive tanks in the back and a Bimini Top. Thunderstorms the entire way , just left my wetsuit on went with it.

I had a CJ in high school. In the Spring the top came off and the drain plugs came out. It was my daily for 8 years. I have a picture somewhere of me in a tux at my buddy's wedding soaked to the bone.

I wanted a CJ so bad back in High School. My mom was an insurance agent and knew way to much about them and the flipping. I then said I wanted a VW Bus, just to poke the bear.

I still have the CJ. It has evolved a bit and I still get caught in the rain.

After several days of baking in the sun all day with temps 90s and humidity at a low of 22% as well as using my hack job fan setup at night all the carpets feel dry on top and underneath. I’m going to have my construction buddy use his moisture meter on them, but feels like I dodged the mold issue this time.

I do like the look of the Armorlite flooring, does anyone know of they ever go n sale? I think start growing the piggy bank for that next.
