You must be charmed, I only found the one sale (warning) from Banks. Could be all the stuff I'm looking for just wasn't on sale too.

This morning I said to myself, "You know, Dick, if you were motivated a little more, you'd hook a vaccuum line and guage up to your ccv fitting on your stock intake tube, run the piss out of it, and see if the stock intake is adequate once and for all." Then I thought about something else and got distracted. Then the wife yelled at me about something, and I figured someone has probably done that already and left it at that.

I sent the Holley Intech back for refund and decided to try the AFE Magnum Force with dry filter. I'm returning it also. Why someone would put such a giant filter on a tiny 2 7/8" pipe is beyond my comprehention. The intake tube is a little thicker than a beer can, covered in bed liner with no barbs for compliance fittings on either end. They drilled four holes in the tube to rivet the AFE nameplate on, whether those holes are air tight or not, I don't know. There are pieces of aluminum rivet protruding into the intake tube that look like they're about to break off. This is strike two, these intakes were $425-$435 each and not even half the quality of the stock unit. I guess I'll try Banks Ram Air next.

The Mopar CAI is in that price range. I put one on my gas engine Overland. It has a nice look, and makes it sound a little better.

I'm not following what you mean by "barbs"

Cold air intakes don’t do much but I have the Mopar one in both our Jeeps and like it, sound is nice and I swear it has more at the top end but that is just hopeful thinking they say. I like how it cleans up the engine area how I can see my differential from above! I am running the Mopar large dry filter, very well made no baffles in air box, air tube is huge ,sucks air same as factory from fender and front grill. …Jack

No it has no barb, it is a smooth pipe end.

If you are looking for a quality intake, just get the Mopar and be done with it. Fit & finish is as good as it gets.
