A steel oem bumper off a rubicon would be the same as one of a sport correct? Just different color tow hooks?

Correct. and not just for JTs. All JL/JTs. For example mine did not come with a steel bumper. However I bought one off a rubicon 392 owner so it had gold tow hooks which I swapped out for my original black ones.

But had it came from the standard rubicon steel bumper it would have had the red tow hooks. The bumper itself is the same,

Only difference is the color tow hooks

Sport doesn't come with a steel bumper........
but the Rubicon style steel bumper will fit any other model.

Here is a Rubicon style steel bumper on my Overland ->

I thought at one time you could get steel bumpers on certain non rubicon gladiators. Maybe Texas Edition?

The fog lights may need an adapter to fit into the steel bumper depending on your light mount configuration.

The Gladiator Freedom edition says hi... ?

Screenshot_20230921-084517.png
Freedom edition. No one I know would say "I have a sport", they'd say "I have a FE"
It's like someone with the HA saying "I have an Overland". Yeah, it's based on Overland, but it's the High Altitude.
Look around for anyone with the HA and see what they call it.
Order a Sport and you get plastic bumper with the fender fillers.
Standard equipment is plastic.

Yeah, but you mentioned only Sport.
Order a Sport and get the plastic bumper.
Order a Freedom Edition, for example, and they build a Freedom Edition - based on the Sport, but it's no longer standard and the bumper is part of the FE, not part of the Sport.

Like said - the Rubicon-style steel bumper will fit any JT. For that matter, depending on adapting fog lights, wiring harnesses, fillers, whatever, any JT bumper will fit any other JT because the front horn arrangement is all the same. Same bolt pattern and the frame protrudes beyond the grill basically the same amount on each.

In short - you can put any Gladiator or JL/JLU bumper on any Gladiator.

The fog lights may need an adapter to fit into the steel bumper depending on your light mount configuration.
And I found it so much nicer and easier to order the Rubicon fog light wiring harness for the steel bumper when putting a steel Rubicon-style MOPAR bumper on another JT because it's got the clips to hold the harness in place properly, like factory, it fits like a glove, and saves a ton of time having to strip that plastic bumper into a bazillion parts to get the harness out of it. There's a lot of screws to mess with and it takes time to harvest that harness from the plastic bumper, then none of the clips line up.
So when I put the steel bumper on my 2022 Overland, I ordered the proper fog light harness through Benny here.
I had to put things back when I traded my 2020 in and figured I never wanted to do that again - take the harness back off the steel bumper, put it back in the plastic bumper, put the plastic bumper parts all together again and put it back on. Now if i trade, I can just slap the plastic bumper back on in minutes. Fog lights, wiring and all.

Would you happen to have that part #? I also will have to find a bracket to move my Mojave fogs or try and find some take-off rubicon fogs to install. Thanks for the info!

And the quote from Benny -
Hi Bill,
You will need the steel specific harness part # 68336460AD . Yes they are different.
