When purchasing my JT Rubicon recently, I thought I could just buy the Mopar bumper later if the Rubicon came with the plastic bumper (I like the factory steel bumper, both in the way it looks and the fact that it sits low and doesn't mess with the airflow with several winches I have seen on it). Anyway, I found a Rubicon I liked and it did not have the steel bumper. I called their parts department and was told that they were "unavailable" at this time. I called several other dealers and one way or another was told that they could not get nor provide a timeframe on when they would receive them. I finally asked one parts guy what they would do if I bought a Jeep with a steel bumper and someone damaged the front end and it needed a new bumper. They guy just said he wasn't sure what they would do since they don't even have a part number for the steel bumper.

In the end, I limited my choices to an X which comes with the steel bumper as standard equipment or a Rubicon with the steel bumper group option. Fortunately for me, I did find a standard Rubicon at a great deal with the steel bumper. Just to let everyone know that if you plan on adding the Mopar steel bumper after the fact, you may be in for a very long wait.

Found one for $1500 with a warn winch. I also found one off a 392 for $400 and then found out how sensitive my standard Mojave is. $600 is max I would pay. I think I will contact American Adventure Lab which is local to me here in St George and see if they can make me something custom that is light, closed off since I don't want a winch and will include fog lights.

They want around $1000 here, if you can find one. I keep looking
Speaks the truth. I waited 18 months and finally found one for $750. The 'steals' for 250 do show up....but if you don't see it the second it's posted it's already gone. I bought my $750 one 8 minutes after it hit FB marketplace and the guy said he already had 10 messages. I said ' I can be there in 15 minutes '. You gotta be fast. If you want to pay $1000 they're easy to get. I am taking complete sets that are the whole bumper with LEDs and the Rubicon steel skid. I do see $400 bumpers that are stubbys stripped of their LEDs and no skids.

Probably very regional. In Socal people know what they're worth and demand is huge. Mopar tube doors are $1000+ here used. I was in Yuma for a USMC retirement and bought them for $600 from a guy who met me halfway from Glendale.

Of all the parts' guys at the dealerships I went to, only one even mentioned a price and he said the last one he had was about $1500 (plus tax if you buy at a dealership). But he said that was "some time ago". Not sure what he actually meant but obviously it was not any time recent and I'm sure they will not be cheaper when they eventually become available.

I picked up a 392 take off from eBay about 6 months after I bought my truck, just have to be patient. The majority of JLs and JTs are shipped with a plastic bumper, so it shouldn't be expected that there's always going to be a ton of bumpers at any given time but they do show up.

I’ve also been looking for over a year. Originally I was looking for 2 of them. One for my JT and one for the wife’s JLU. I’m up in Canada, and haven’t come across one yet!!

I have bought two of them off FB marketplace. Both were used and had a few cosmetic scratches on them. Both came with LED fog lights still in the bumper. I paid $400 for one and $600 for the other with skid plate included.

Being patient is the key, and hoping you find one that the seller doesn't realize what a gold mine they have.

Found a brand new take-off on FB Marketplace for $800. I like the original OEM look although Westin has a pretty nice front and rear bumper that I thought looked nice.

Best money saving purchase I made was one of the Chinese knock offs brand new for 200$ off facebook, they are on ebay and amazon as well. All you gotta do is get it re-powder coated with a decent coat and bam, a steel bumper for a fraction of the cost. Best part is they come with the winch plate, fog light brackets, and little bull bar, not included out right with the MOPAR making the factory on around $1500 that I have seen.

I got one with LED fog lights for $500 + my plastic bumper about 3 years ago. Kept the LED fogs from plastic bumper as well. will use then on JK some day.

I had originally picked a front steel up 4 years ago through BAM, for about $800 with no sensors, but that link now shows unavailable. I picked up my rear steel bumper as a take-off for $200. No sensors also, so not as many were after that luckily. Patience and timing is key for finding them. https://www.bamwholesaleparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-front-bumper-82215121ah

I wish mine had come with the factory steel bumper. They do seem to be very uncommon in the used marketplace, I think because few come with them to start, and even fewer sell them off in favor of something different.

I’d been considering the aluminum Nemesis Kelvin mid width but they didn’t have the skid plate at the time and then the price went insanely high in my opinion. To bad, they make really nice stuff.
