imagine better wages and no union dues. CWA never did anything for us when ATT took over Directv. I lost $10 an hour. 3 months after i found another Job ATT laid off everyone "seniority based" low man gone. Laterally everyone hired in the last 3 years gone. Unions only help themselves. Their policy is save money so we can go one strike.

Glad they reached an agreement though. I can't imagine the hardship those working families are going through right now.

We should take a poll to see how it plays out. Will they ratify the contract or not.

I have a feeling they are going to vote it down and we’ll be right back to last week with all 3

And then there's the opposite side of the discussion: folks who pay in their whole life, finally retire and start collecting, then pass away after a short duration of collecting.
Yep,, that's the reality we live in. In one case we pay into SS and pass or if we didn't and could save that amount, in either case someone else gets those funds.

I would be surprised if they did, especially if there is majority of high Seniority workers that will not be affected at the expense of less Seniority workers.

I have watch 3 UAW contract votes at my work and they will throw the less senior people under the bus if it keeps the status quo for the senior people.

Good point. My reason for thinking so was what happened with the Mack truck contract. But that one did offer less than this one. Fingers crossed. I want my gladiator D:

Was CWA myself working for Avaya, and hated it. I got the crap shifts and worked harder than others and knew more. We had someone with seniority that had 2 masters degrees and could not even build a ticket for the right location.

They even got the job back for a guy fired for so many no shows, the guy that left US hanging. We did not want him back. I learned a healthy dislike of unions after that.

My Gladiator has been at the dealer for 6 weeks waiting for parts (which are in stock) to be shipped to complete a warranty repair on a tick in the engine. Hopefully this will allow the parts to be sent and my Jeep to be repaired. I don't need to weigh in on the reason for the strike or how long it took... I just want my truck back...

The 2024's were supposed to start production on 11/13 before the strike. I wonder what their strategy is now. Would be nice to have some communication and pricing.

Call UAW for your communication. It's all up to them.

This is sarcastic for anyone who didn't pick up on it. Don't expect UAW to tell anyone anything.

You were right. The Ford workers at Michigan voted overwhelmingly to approve. ?

I too saw that it was "Overwelmingly Approved" at Ford, figured GM and Stellantis would follow suit in short order.

That said, anyone see any articles, updates or clues on how the ratification vote is going at Stellantis?
