You aren’t wrong it will probably be warmer. I always swap my freedom panels during the time change weekend. My fear is too much snow and it would do damage to the top.

Nah, if it’s your daily and you’re cleaning it off it’ll be fine. I lived in flagstaff for years with YJ soft top and soft doors. Never had an issue at all (other than the plastic windows. )

You won't need to insulate it from the cold, but if it's no garaged I'd recommend swapping it out for the original top over the winter to prevent snow and ice damage.

I am the opposite - living in Phoenix area, we run freedom panels from about May through October, and then use the Bestop Sunrider from November through April.

I always swap tops when the temps get a bit chilly for topless driving. It usually takes 5-10 minutes to remove or re-install the Sunrider...no need to disassemble it. There are a few different options for insulating the hard top. I have the Hotheads and they seem to help.

Any problems with the side cables when removing the Sunrider?

Gonna sound weird, but a sunshade leaves enough space between the sunrider to put a blanket, maybe some towels too.
I do it with my soft top or hard top on the wrangler. Not sure how much it helps really, but having a blanket available definitely does

It's been discussed before, and some solutions included using a thin insulated foam mat, or like a yoga mat.

The Sunrider is easy enough to swap in and out with the roof panels. Last year I left ours on through the winter. This year it came off, though.

I've never had issues with taking the Sunrider off or putting it on.

Nope. Non issue. Open it, remove all 6 bolts and lift up. Done.
