?
So… what tune are you going with ? ??
There’s only one tuner mrtuning and ecodiesel owners Canada. It’s a box tune that cranks the fuel up. Has switch on the fly for fueling. Requires you to mail your ecu in.

they also have a transmission tune that makes it a bit more responsive. What these jeeps need are a larger turbo. I think 400hp would be easy with a big turbo.

I have a mrtuning on my tdi with a larger turbo. Good stuff. From a reliability stand point (at least with tdi’s) once you break 1.5x factory numbers internals really start to struggle…. I try to keep the VW’s under 250hp for this reason…. I imagine the eco is the same. 300mark would probably keep me happy enough- I’m sure the tq jump is somewhere between 5-550??
I bet water injection would go a Looong way with this motor too.

GDE is still tuning the gen 3 as well

Neither company are offering “box tunes” the encryptions require bench flashing.

box tune would be a tune like what banks offered- an obdII plug in that tricks sensor readings…. Both of these are ligit tunes.

Mr tuning is one tune they don’t modify anything further than their tune file. I’ve gone back and forth with EOC on this.

They can remove some pids if you’re lucky and request it specifically beforehand but the tune is basically shift fuel map on the fly. Boost never gets turned up really like it should.

Water methanol doesn’t really work once these are tuned. They are way way way overfueled. The wmi makes it far worse.
Stock they have some very weird programming with the throttle valve and butterfly valves that won’t let it take any water methanol. It almost hydrolocks even with a 5gph nozzle.

We need a turbo with a larger cold side or 50HP or a small jet of nitrous. Nitrous with stage 2 tuning is the way to go. Anything above 20HP adds way too much fuel. If your at altitude it’s even worse.

Ecodiesels of Canada is top notch easy to work with and great products highly recommended

I’m not positive I agree on the thermostat details.

While moving to a 190 seems like a no brainer those higher oil temps burn off moisture and fuel from the engine oil.

plus the 190 and stock thermostat flow the same amount of water at max opening…

This may lower temps for around town, low load situations but that may introduce oil sheering sooner, and require more frequent changes.

Any of you folks know what parameters are changed with the EOC stage II tuning? I have reached out to them but they are closed until the 4th. I have read mention of something about a 2000 rpm fast idle when first starting the vehicle after a tune. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this first hand, and if so, any other changes to the programming to be aware of?

They add a high idle but it’s like 1000 or 1200rpm when cold and in park.
They do some tuning mostly just cranking the fuel up for more power.
