As I posted in another thread my Jeep was stolen in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada last week while I was staying in a hotel in the west end. It is basically an epidemic of vehicle theft in Ottawa these days and has been for a couple years with no signs of slowing down. At one point Toyota Tacomas were going missing from dealership lots several at a time.

I really liked the Mojave and will miss it, had a great trip to Yukon with it this summer. It was problem free.

My insurane did a good job with coverage so I can't complain with the settlement amount, just waiting for the cheque.

I found a nice 2023 Rubicon Xtreme Recon a few hrs away with 5k off and did the deal on it last night. Now I know you guys south of the border are getting better deals but up here there are no incentives on 2023 JL's unless the dealerships are discounting them. I like the fact that all I really need to do is toss a new ARB Stubby and the new Warn M8000s on the front, same as the last setup. Also thinking of upgrading to Fox 2.0 shocks or Falcon 2.1 to sweeten the ride.

Thanks everybody!

I hate that for you! Happy for the new ride though ! What wheel and tire specs did you have on the Mojave? Looks awesome. Any lift to it?

The wheels were stock Mojave, tires were Falken AT3W 315/70r17. I had put a .75 inch daystar rear coil spacer and a Teraflex 1 inch front spacer. The plan was to keep it simple. I was very happy with the Mojave that way but always had thoughts of 37's!

The scumbag thief's now have your address
I highly recommend The Ravelco Anti-Theft Device

https://www.nohotwire.com/product/ravelco-for-2019-and-newer-chevy-gmc-trucks-and-vans/

There is no concern about them having my address info though as I live 500km/300miles away from where it was stolen.

It was stolen from a high theft region (Ottawa, Ontario). When ai go back in February I will be staying somewhere with underground parking.

Will have a look at the device you linked. Thanks

Apparently the sirius xm guardian package can locate your Jeep too if you paid for it. I’ve never used it, but if you live in a high theft zone, might be worth it. Apple air tag can help too maybe if hidden in a good spot.

The new Jeep looks awesome in blue. Congrats and know it is a great base for what you plan to do with it.

I wasn’t aware of that Sirius feature. Thanks. Was not planning to renew it at all because I find it’s pretty crummy but the new one will have a 1 yr trial again.

The theft in this part of Canada are typically loaded into containers or stored in a warehouse before being shipped overseas.

Picked up the new Jeep finally! Got the bumper and winch installed. Looking forward to getting the Falcon shocks and Mopar lower CA’s installed next week. The Mojave drove nicer. Can already say I miss the better snow performance of the Falken AT3W’s but the KO2’s will have to do for a couple yrs

There are a few videos out there. Scary for sure. In the first video I think the proximity of the original key made it much easier for the locksmith.

I know the videos are a bit long to watch, they show the long game on these vehicles being found overseas, but the last one I posted is crazy, the owner of the vehicle tracked it to a shipping yard, the police were onsite and told him they could do nothing. So the tags are a joke at this point.

With my new XR the stealership wanted to charge me $700 to add a few tags, my insurance pointed me to their installers who will charge $250... then no insurance discount and no action from the police when trackable.
