So Im at a point where I can finally get my diesel gladiator, now I’m torn on trim level, do I just get a rubicon spend the little extra or is an overland/high altitude fine? Or maybe even a Willy’s. What do we think JTRD or other ?

plan is daily driver/toy to have fun when available to go out

I’ve wanted one of these since they announced the diesel and have been biding my time so now that I’m finally ready it’s just Rubi or something else

Same opinion as @azmojave and I am very happy with my Overland.

Brought me so far everywhere I want.

DIESELS Jeeps ROCK!!! We have 2....

Rubi is awsome.... everything is On-Tap from the start..... found an unsold 22 here for 45k pretty loaded... totally worth going down that road vs a lower model...

If it is primarily your daily driver just going on my experience with mine as my daily driver do it all truck. Go with what gets you the most comfort in regard to seating and drivability. The truck is perfectly cable of doing offroading of the normal kind without going crazy. The one thing I wish the truck had out of all the stuff was better seats.

Thanks for the thoughts, yeah I think at the point I’m just going to go for the best deal and comfort and what it sounds mechanically, went and looked at a Rubi for 49 fully loaded only 19k on it and might end up going with that one, also looked at a high altitude for 43 but extremely rough cold start, so instantly felt a nope rising up lol. There’s a Willy’s nearby for 45 I might go look at it’s got the 7” connect but that’s it from what I can tell. But keeping my eyes open for the best deal, at the moment still feel the Rubi is the best

they are still offering deep discounts on new 2023's... jeep's inventory search website leaves something to be desired- but, if you are searching just for a gladiator > diesel powertrain --- that works fine.... shows something over 1200 available nationwide, i just checked it... if you find one with the color you want and the packages you prefer-- go to the dealer site to see if they show a markdown... (some dealers are going to be more willing to work with you than others... but you can find that out simply enough through a couple emails--)

i've got the overland- if i had to do it again, i'd go for rubicon, mojave or sport max tow-- (for the wider axles)

I’ll have to look into this, I think after driving a few I do think I want the wider axles, to be honest the Rubi drove the best

Just curious, looking at the build site, does the diesel Rubi not come with the 4:1 transfer case? It deselects it and when I click it it takes the diesel off ?

Was thinking about getting back into a diesel Rubicon but I sat in a '24 wrangler and the seats are SO much better. I HATE the seats in the current Gladiator. So basically for me a choice between better seats and the diesel.

Rubicon- resale if the time ever comes, and 4:1 is outstanding…. Don’t always need to go this low, but when you do, it’s there.
the fact that you really don’t “need” to regear, unless going over 37’s begs the argument for if someone would actually do the lockers on an overland/sport…. And lockers- lockers are great to have even if you aren’t hardcore into wheeling….

The Rubicon is only available with a 4:1 transfer case, regardless of engine. The diesel for some reason only has the part time version available, while the 3.6 gives you the option of the standard part time case or the full time case.
