I have a 2022 Sport, with @ 7000 miles on it. Just had 5.13 gear and Eaton e-lockers installed @ 500 miles ago. Was going to hit up a nice mellow trail today to try it out in 4H/4L. First off it was very hard to get into 4H and 4L which was weird as before the regear I never had that issue. About a 1/2 mile down the trail, the Service 4WD light came on. I turned around and went back to the trailhead to air up. Leaving the air up spot back on pavement, in 2H, the shift points seemed weird and it would not go over 45mph. I pulled over, shut the motor off and restarted it. The light went out and it drove fine in 2H all the way home. Once back at the house, I tried it again. Drove around the block in 4H and it was fine, shifted into 4L and as soon as I moved forward the light came back on. Shifted to 2H and that same issue, almost like a limp mode, happened again. Do you think I need to go back to who did the regear, or does this sound like a Jeep issue. Almost seems electronic. Not sure what the shop doing the regear could have done to be causing this issue. Opinons/Comments please!

More than likely something isn't reading correctly.

You went to E-lockers in a Sport, might have to do something with a Tazer to shut something off or turn something on.

Interesting. Didn't think about that. Being it is going into a sort of "limp mode" I agree it has to be some sort of sensor issue. My dilemma is to take it to the dealer or 4 X 4 shop that did the gears.

I would start with the 4x4 shop that did the work first. There is risk taking it to the dealership and blaming everything on the regear and possibly flagging the rest of your powertrain warranty.

Oh hell!! ?

5:13's, you gotta tell the computer it has 5:13's. It's still reading for old gearing.

The E-lockers may throw a different code.

I thought the same thing but assumed his 4x4 shop would have been competent to have done that? ?

I never assume anything any more.

I just glossed over the gearing and fixated on the E-lockers.

He's going to get some kind of light or code for those, but the gearing will throw him into limp mode.

Just had 5:13's installed in my Rubicon JT. Have about 1,600 miles since regear. No issues with Service 4WD light but did have some extreme difficulty getting it into 4HI (no problem before). After a few moves into and out of 4HI, it is still harder than before gears but not as hard as first time after gears. Interesting that you had the same problem. Will keep an eye on this thread to see if that is common with gear switches or if someone has a solution.

**UPDATE*** So the shop that did the re-gear agreed that they should have programmed the gear ratio, so that was done and they gave me a Superchips programmer. I asked for a Tazer, and they said they could not sell me one due to the fact their management would not allow them to sell any devices, not CARB-compliant in Cali (go figure). That seems to have fixed that issue. Now, it sounds like they put too much preload on the pinion bearing, as I am getting a rubbing/whining noise out of the rear end. It is also leaking gear oil out of the left side axle. FML it is looking like I made a bad choice in facility to do this upgrade.
