Yeah I mean it would be a real trainwreck if you were out on the trail and suddenly couldn't use 4WD because a sensor keeps failing

Same here. It's killing me. The issues are VERY random and got more interesting y'day; I drove home in the rain for the first time in a few weeks. No warning tones or lights. Today it's dry - it's back! Every now and then I'm getting random "BRAKE" warnings from fwd collision system, etc. All very daunting 2 weeks out from a 2200 mile road trip. I've read stories of some going into "limp mode" - I can't have that happen. No dealer in NJ can get me in to take a look. I may have to go in another direction...and I do love that truck though.
does your start/stop always work? IF no charge your batteries seperately or replace them.
I have had similiar issue but lights stay on and its been the battery most of the time. once or twice I couldnt drive over 30mph, luckly close to home. disconnect the battery neg- seem to clear it enough to drive it. always handy to have Jscan with you

Start/stop has been something that has never given a problem and I've seen those horror stories too! Thanks for the suggestions.

Hello! Second time around with this issue. I searched extensively online and what I found out is very daunting and was essentially confirmed by my dealer (in not such a nice way.) The Info Display flashes "Service 4WD System" and the little orange icon lights up for about three seconds and goes out. No codes are being sent. I've read that this is a sensor issue and that Jeep essentially has no answer for it. They can replace the sensor but it will come back. Mine came back 4 months after initial repair. If @JeepCares my dealer is Nielsen in E. Hanover and they were kind enough to tell me that I could bring it in in April! The are understaffed and "every Jeep is having this issue, they are swamped with the issue." I need my vehicle every day and they told me there's a waitlist for a loaner but if I want to leave it, they could diagnose it but it will take 4-5 business days (WTH??) Oh, I'm still waiting for the service mgr, Roland to give me a call. Not likely. Two calls this past weekend went unreturned and with 8 minutes to go, I'm not epxecting my call back today either.

I cannot have this keep happening. Anyone else having this issue and perhaps any good ideas on a possible fix?

Currently very disappointed in the treatment and the recent experience with Jeep (this is roughly my 11th Jeep and 4th with this dealer.) I'm seriously considering selling trading the JTLE for a Ram Rebel and calling it a day...

Thanks for listening!
If you get the Z Locker sensor by pass for the rear locker and the Tazer mini, that will help you bypass the problem for months at a time. The Z-locker gets rid of the locker sensor issue, but, eventually the "serv 4WD" message and the bad sway bar message will come up. Use the Tazer to do a full reboot, and the messages will dissapear for months and months and everything will work normally again,.

This actually happened to me. Well wait not because a sensor but hear me out. I was out on a simple day drive before a major surgery back in August, went on a dirt road, and could NOT for the life of me get it into 4wd! I tried and tried, all sorts of combinations of things. I thought it was broken. So went back to my folks in prep of surgery. Well...9 weeks later before leaving to go back home after part of the recovery I found this.

You see that rock up there?

How in the world that thing EVER got up in there...I will never, ever know. INSANE!!!!

Just a little PSA. The improbable, no matter the rate of probability, is still possible.

The story ends with me getting Jeep involved and having to trade it in. No longer a Gladiator guy. Had another sensor replaced and it was still flashing the warning. It had to go at that point.
