rear:Does anyone know the extended and compressed length of the Bilstein shocks AEV uses in their 2.5 - 3.0” lifts? I called AEV and was told by the person I spoke with he didn’t have that information.

Chorky, do you have the 5100’s or 8100’s?I don't know, but AEV does have that info you just need to be persistent. I can say that when the shocks are fully extended and bottom out, the SD springs are relatively loose in the porches but dont fall out. Not sure how helpful that is though.

I got 2 different answers for the length of the front. AEV said the lift was more like 4in if you got the 3 cus you'll take out that extra inch with overland weight. But then gave me dimensions that if my math is mathin, its only good for 3in of lift exactly. Just the front anyway. I did a little more research and if you get the 3in heavy load variant of the kit, im 90% percent certain that you'll get extended stroke ones that measure:

I have the 5100's. I couldnt' justify the cost for the 8100's at the time and couldn't get solid info on how they rode. I was also undecided if I wanted those or if I just wanted to wait and save for the B8 external bypass shocks. the HD springs are the 4in plus with out load. the 2.5 should be true to size.
must not have gone through. the SD 2.5 springs are true to size as far as i know. Its the 3" HD ones that are 4 plus unloaded.Did you forget to type something?

I just had a convo with them several times about spring differences a few months ago and was informed the 3" springs are actually physically shorter but being stiffer they net slightly more lift - if you are unloaded. I'm curious, did you get that information from them or did you actually measure the springs. I'm about to pull the trigger on the HD springs based on my weight category and definitely do NOT want to be pushing close to 4" of lift. It would be too difficult to get in for me. The SD springs with about 400#'s for me gave right about 2.5"
