Toyo Open Country R/T Trail

Just mounted a set of 37-12.50/17 rt trails on my rig. So for here are my impressions. Haven't had it offroad yet (will this weekend). Great looking tire. I would put the look and the sound on road about even to my 35 ridge grapplers they replaced. I have a two inch spacer in the front and a 1 inch spacer in the rear. No wheel spacers, stock wheels. I do get a little scrub up fron at full lock but I havent looked to see what it scrubs and if its an easy fix. I'll report back once I run them offroad, etc. Have not regeared. A slight difference in power but not enought to really notice much. Will pull a trailer this weekend as well so we will see how she does then.

I also made the switch from an AT (BFG KO2) to a RT (Wildpeak RT01). I had thought it was a niche, in-between, made up segment but now I've literally bought into it. So far I'm happy with the move. I was eyeing the Toyo but they didn't have it in the size I wanted (38). I doubt you get much snow in Georgia but curious to see your opinion in different terrains.

Update on my tires. Definitely notice a little loss of acceleration on the 37s vs the 35s but nothing horrible. Overall, I love these tires. Had them offroad and on the highway and they are def on par with the ridge grapplers I took off. Running 70mph I was able to get 18mpg on my trip last week to Florida. Also, regularly saw 8th gear. It would run mostly 7th and 8th on cruise during the trip down. They are very quite on the highway and I haven't noticed any loss of grip vs the grapplers offroad. So for the savings in weight vs a 37 ridge grappler, I call them a win.

Still running stock 4:10s. No plans to regear anytime soon. I did notice that offroad the offroad plus button made a lot of difference in the throttle response. I highly recommend turning that on anytime you are in 4wd!

My only rubbing with a 2" lift in the front was on the drivers side when turning full lock to the right. The tire was contacting the skid plate on the inside. A little angle grinder work and I'm good to go on stock rims with no spacers.

As an aside, I've been running about 34lbs of pressure in them. I called toyo and they calculated 27 is what I should run. I dropped them to 31 and they started feeling very squishy on the road. If anybody else is running this setup, can you tell me what pressure you are running? I haven't chalk tested them yet, btw.

This will be apples to pears because mine are 35's, but I found 32psi to be the sweet spot.

Yours should be the new compound, but keep an eye on them getting hard because then they'll be "greasy".

How are these running as of now? I’m about to get a set installed in the morning. The Nitto Ridge Grapplers I’ve had for 3 years and 60k miles are fairly worn and have allot of cracking between the lugs so its definitely time to upgrade.
