Up here in Canada, there is no consumer protection for owning a Chrysler vehicle with a warranty. There is NO arbitration both provincial or federal. Chrysler opted out of the federal program when FIAT bought them.

Sorry, OP for your dealership warranty issues. I didn’t mean to high jack the tread.
The dealer that doesn't respond, well I went in there, and Paul gave me his card.....the number is right, the voicemail says its the same person. Ive even spoken to someone who says they'll have paul call back. Since I travel for work almost 90 percent of the time, its not as simple as just popping in. Since I don't travel next week, I plan to go there and be pretty grumpy about it.

All that still doesn't excuse being told that since I didn't buy a vehicle somehwere, they won't do warranty work

These are the things that are going to eventually cause people to snap and enact revenge. I'm just waiting for that day to arrive. With all these 'me first' attitudes goin around world wide, it's inevitable. I mean just look at the amount of road rage these days.

I have some rust bubbles on my hood. I brought it into a dealer to get it warranty replaced. I was told it would be about January when I brought it in in September. They have never called with any info about getting an appointment. I have left a dozen or so messages with zero response. I decided to call another dealer to see if they would have work done on warranty. I got told they wont accept anyone if they didn't buy from them originally. I then got on a chat with an agent with Jeep Wave. I was told I would have a specialist reach out to me within 24 hours.....and that didn't happen. My original dealer is across the state, so its not like its just something I can just drop off and pick up at leisure.

Im pretty irate at this whole experience. I am also given this line from two dealers that yeah, Im under warranty now, but thankfully when I would likely get the work done I would still be under warranty because I would not have gone over miles. What kind of bs is that. I am putting in a warranty claim now, the miles/time at the time of the actual work should never be a factor if you are delaying me getting work done.

WTF is jeep/fca thinking. This has really soured me on ever buying anything new from this company ever again.
Report the dealership.

Imagine that I bought my car as new from Belgium and I registered it in Romania and the local dealer is refusing to do any warranty work claiming that the car is made for Canadian market and is not been bought from their network of dealers. In this country the sell ony Overland 3.0 diesel... and I had the courage to buy a Rubicon 3.6 ...

Sounds like you got a gray market import and I would expect them to deny warranty for it. We have the same problem in the United States of vehicles that were intended for the Canadian market getting re-imported back into the USA and warranty is denied here for those buyers.

AFAIK, Only the 3.0 Diesel Gladiators were ever offered in Europe. So any gas/petrol 3.6L over there would by default be a gray market import.

Heres a bit of an update.

I was able to get a hold of the dealer that is unresponsive. They told me that fca is releasing hoods at the end of the month. I don't believe him in the slightest. At this point I don't have trust in them.

I am emailing with a rep from Jeep Wave. I definitely name dropped the dealers in the metro detroit area and detailed what they said. I also have this as my latest communication with jeep.

Good afternoon N , yes your basic warranty is about to expire soon . If you go over 36,000 miles then the corrosion repair will not be covered under warranty . At this time all you would need is an appointment to be set . So if your local dealership isn't willing to do the repair for you from being so backed up the only other thing would be we would have to find different dealership for you to take the vehicle and have the repair done . I know that may suck due to the inconvenience but as I stated if you go over 36,000 miles it will not be covered . So if you need assistance with finding a different dealership to get this repair done then I would be more than happy to help you get all set up .

Kind regards,

Sorry for the weird formatting.

I also got a call back from the original dealer I purchased from and have to call them back again. At this point I am kinda getting somewhere with something. They will be called tomorrow.

Also, Ill say it as plain as I can. When I was denied service. I specifically asked "if I didn't buy from you guys, you won't do this work?" he replyed with unfortunately yes. His reasoning was that they are backed up over a year for that work, which Im not inclined to believe.

That’s BS !! The warranty is 5 years unlimited mileage for corrosion on outer finished panels. Jeep can’t even get that right ?? https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/attachments/p140228_22_j_g_gw_en_us_digital-pdf.324635/

Just a thought ? Have you contacTed the Owner of this dealership ? Let them know the service you are getting ? Maybe tell them you are going to make some serious waves and probably get a lawyer ? Sometimes it helps ? I was a manager and tech at dealerships for 40 plus years and they usually don’t want negative advertising ? It’s usually cheaper for them to just take care of your problem.

If the shop is 2.5 years booked, it’s 2.5 years booked. A Lawyer can’t make rime appear

As long as there is record of the problem, a report complete with date and miles, of the problem as it existed at that time, it doesn't matter if the clock runs out on warranty because they could not get it repaired within the warranty period.
All that's needed is an official record of the problem with the date and miles. If the warranty runs out next month but it's on record, and they can't get to it for 6 months - it's still covered because the problem existed and was reported within the warranty period.
It's your fault of you don't report it, it's not your fault if they can't get to it before the clock runs out.

Keep detailed records of all calls and other correspondence with names, times, dates and more.
As long as you can prove you tried - they can't deny it later because they were "unable to get to it before the warranty ran out".
