Does the Zr2 have hydraulic jounce bumpers? No? It just has bump stops? The truck isn't even in the same league off-road as the Mojave.

I will ever buy a truck or suv as heavy as those two, with a 4 cylinder turbo or naturally aspirated. This new trend of turbo 4 cylinders in big vehicles is akin to what the 1994 assault weapon ban did to rifles back then. It's just plain fucking stupid.
Cummins 3.5-4.0 liter would solve all problems. 500 torque easy.

If you notice on the YouTube videos of the various channels driving the new Bisons out in California recently at a media event. There is a problem with the front suspension on those Bisons. I could see no suspension flex at all when wheels were traveling over rocks or any terrain where flex should be obvious. The whole truck would pick up and lean over every time the front suspension should have been compressing. The rear suspension did flex a lot like it should, great looking wheel travel on rear.

The same videos from the drivers perspective inside the Bison really told the story. Drivers were being thrown all over the place it looked miserable.

The Bison looks great and is probably great in a Baja environment but trails it doesn't not look like it should.

The plastic fenders and quarter panels on the Jeep Gladiator are so much better than steel body fenders and quarter panels off-road that the comparison is not even fair in tighter trails.

At 6'2" and 250 I tried to like the Canyon, but I just felt cramped and claustrophobic. I have a friend who is a dealer and offered me a great price, but I just couldn't do it. Wound up with my 2021 Willy's and am happy I didn't go the GMC route.

I have a co-worker who purchased the new Chevrolet Colorado. It's a nice looking truck on the outside an improvement over previous generations. The interior is still lacking in my opinion. I am not sold on the small 4cyl. turbo engine. Yes, we live in a time where you can put six turbo's on a law mower and get power but at what future cost? When turbo's are spinning at 30K rpm's eventually they need replacement.
Also, I drive Ford's at work with eco boost and it is a crock that they get better milage. Maybe under optimum (unrealistic) conditions, but stick your foot in it to accelerate and milage is not better if not worse than a V8. Kills me when I hear people saying how a Ford eco-boost v6 makes really good power.....Ok, Eco that Coyote v8 let's see the difference.

On my personal preference, this is a very general comparison, its like hey lets compare 2 midsize trucks that have 4 wheels to the ground ,and heey I have one of those , lets find another one and compare them. This is not a good material for an average person that don't know about trims, capabilities and prices.

A more balance competition will be to compare a Gladiator Texas Trail/Willys vs a Colorado Z71 or this same Canyon AT4.

It curious that this came up, I was just looking at the Colorado 2024 and comparing it with the Mojave. It just amazing the Jeep high price when it is compared with another vehicle taking in consideration price and features offered . Much of us will said, it is well earned, all its legacy since 1941, the community that they have created, the culture behind it and the unmatchable off road capability, but when can we say it is already too much?

Here is what i consider a fair comparison: Gladiator Mojave vs Colorado ZR2

Here is what you can get for 62k with Chevrolet

ZR2 2024 Bison Edition, 35's Tires and a ton of features

Mojave almost fully loaded, 2023 (because you can't build you 2024 in the website yet)

Is having a 2023 Jeep Gladiator Mojave not fully loaded worth a 2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison Edition Fully loaded + 10k?

We can enter in the field of HELL YEAH is a Jeep, is my money I do what I like with it, and just continue inflating this amazing symbol . But as a 32 year old Jeep owner since 2009, coming from a Jeep owners family, Former Chrysler Dealership Service Advisor, middle class according to the US Census, I would like to have a Mojave fully loaded in the low 60' range, just as Chevrolet can offer a similar vehicle. You want to keep it at 70k? no problem, but at least put some 2 inch kit and 35's or do something not just say ''Its a Jeep Thing''

I know I am not the only one noticing these things between prices vs brands vs features offered, a lot of people are complaining, Jeep is also trying to do something https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a46408936/2024-jeep-gladiator-price/, but still there is a lot of improvement that can be made in order to have satisfy, happy new and current Jeep owners.
My pretty loaded 2023 mojave had an msrp of $65k, but I only paid $51k. Added the 2" AEV lift for $500 and got a screaming deal from walmart.com on the 37s at $400. Sold the take offs with less than 2k miles on them for $600. Add another $800 for winch and bumper and I'm $52k into my gladiator on 37s. Not sure what it takes to clear 37s on the bison but I know lifting an ifs is expensive and short of really expensive long travel kits the lift usually sacrifices downtravel due to the control arm angles. I'll take my $52k gladiator over a $62k bison any day.

I agree, and me too, I will take it any day in any life haha. Get a Mojave ''pretty loaded'' for 51 k straight out of the dealership would be a dream come true . Right now the cheapest Mojave you can get, with the cheapest color, manual transmission, halogen lights, no trailer-tow, cheap version of the soft top will go for 53 k.

If you're paying msrp, but why would you? I think koons is offering 9% off invoice on custom orders. It would be worth a flight and a drive home in your new truck from anywhere in the country for $10k+ you'd save. There are many dealers that offer 5% or more off invoice on orders. Like I said, msrp on mine was $65k. I caught it during the 15% off from jeep and talked the dealer down from there. Current interest rates have definitely put the pressure on dealers to come down more on price to move vehicles.

Yikes, I was closer to $55k in a 22 JTR with aux switches, LEDs, steel bumper group, bed liner and cold weather package. I wouldn't have done it at $70k that they are going for now. It's a truck that I suspect will last a long time with a proven powertrain and the relative ease of maintenance and repair.

How many folks are factoring running costs into the equation?

I just test drove a 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X and there is a lot to like and dislike. The truck without a doubt is really nice inside and out. The ride and handling was good, the power from what I could tell was decent but I didn't give the truck full throttle at any point because I invited the young salesman along to pick his brain which was hilarious because he's clueless but a good salesman. It is everything a Gladiator is not. Meaning quiet at highway speeds and drives like a car. The Gladiator is has more leg room in my opinion. Definitely more roomy than a Canyon or Colorado which was surprising. I have no doubt the Gladiator is more capable off-road and the interior is more open but with the pricing of the GMC Canyon AT4X or AT4X AEV versus an equally equipt Gladiator the GMC is less expensive and more comfortable. In my opinion its better looking than the Gladiator also. I feel like the Gladiator seems more peppy and lower rpms also even with the Canyon having more horsepower and way more torque. If I wasn't so far in the hole on the Gladiator I am not sure if I wouldn't have traded today. I trade often though and will check out the newest Gladiator at some point.

The AT4X was $56k fully loaded and they had a AT4X AEV for $67k. Both are cheaper than the 2024 Gladiator Rubicon and Mojave with leather and color matched fender and top which are $70k

I have owned the 5.0 and 3.5 ecoboost f150's and the 5.0 is better on gas here in NE Tennessee because each little hill puts the very quick ecoboost into boost

Back to post #1, it's a weird choice to throw the diesel Gladiator in the ring against the gas Canyon.
Apples to apples seems a bit more fair.
The Canyon is a great looking truck on the outside, but I am underwhelmed by the interior.
It's still on my maybe list, as well as the Frontier, Tacoma, and Ranger.
The Ranger has been looking very interesting lately. The Frontier's power plant has been around a while and seems to have a solid track record.
