Hey all, my fiancé is asking me to add some steps on the JT due to her difficulty getting in the truck . I currently have the stock Rubicon rails on it. I want to add some steps that are similar in weight I have the diesel so I have to keep my payload low. If anyone has any suggestions to which steps look good and have similar weight to the stock rails. TIA. Pictures would be appreciated also to help decide.

What's the weight of the rock rails?

Kevin
Great question , I’ll have to look into that. I read somewhere that they are about 32 lbs each.

My wife is still singing the praises of the power steps on both of our Jeeps, even over a year later she's telling how much she likes them.

The Enhanced Rubi Rails are reasonably light and still sliders. My wife is 5'2" and my 23yr old daughter is 4'10" and they're both happy with the rails at the moment...
I'll be adding a 3in lift and 37s soon ?

but they aren't steps. Still need to step way up on a high-sitting JT.
No better than running boards in that respect, and we had "running boards" on both jeeps and my wife agreed - worthless for getting in unless your Jeep sits really low.

Semantics, depends on where you're from as to what you call them...

Here's another suggestion...

Hmmm. These aren’t a bad idea either. I really like the look of my stock rubi rails , the enhanced style comes close to that stock look.

I put the Rough Country power steps on my Mojave and love them. When in the up position they look like a rock rail, but they are aluminum so they wouldn't hold up like steel ones. They drop down when you open the doors, and go up when you close the doors. They have a lighted area for each step. Also there's a disable switch if you don't want the to drop down.

I never weighed them, but I installed them in less than an hour on my back in the driveway. They're probably no more than 15lbs more (each) than the stock Rubi Rails.
