Also, if I buy the license through the iOS app, can I use it on an android phone too? On the same vehicle of course...
AFAIK, the license is tied solely to the VIN. Should not matter what OS you are using for the APP.

I have it on an Android phone and Android tablet - yes, both are android, but if you contact them they'll explain how to use a license key for both devices if I remember correctly. It is tied to the VIN - for LIFE.
So if you sell your JT or trade it and buy another - you need to buy a new license for that new VIN and the license for the prior vehicle follows it, not YOU.
So it's locked to a specific VIN.
I had a 2020 and had a JSCAN license for it - when I traded, I needed to buy a license for my 2022 and if the new owner of my 2020 wanted to use JSCAN on my old 2020, they could.
He'll explain, contact him via FB messenger - he doesn't seem to do email, etc.

FWIW, I have had no issues using the cheap $14 VeePeak OBD II dongle doing any changes with JScan.

Sure, there are scan tools that lets say "work"....

Much Depends on what you want to accomplish/do with JSCAN....and if you are concerned with speed of process, errors, etc.. If you want a scan tool that is firmware updatable, a tool that has terrific manufacturer's support.

I'd rather spend a few $ more and know that no matter what JSCAN throws at the scan tool that the job will get done.... get done correctly and in a timely manner.

Best bet is to buy a scan tool that is recommended by JSCAN for use with a JT/JL.

For a JT/JL, if you can afford the cost of the OBDLink MX+, it really is the pick of the litter so to speak.

To save a few $, go with the VLinker MC+ .

I am just putting out the info that I found a $14 dongle works just fine for my purposes. If people want to find value in the $140 "recommended" dongle, have at it.

Sad thing is it used to only be $100 and could be purchased during every holiday sale for $80.

I have the original MX but it doesn’t work with the iPhone so I ordered the Vlinker as recommended by the website. It should’ve been delivered yesterday but it appears the contract delivery driver picked up all the packages she (gave me her name in the Amazon app) was supposed to deliver then she promptly deleted her driver app and ran off with them because I got a “we temporarily lost signal with the driver but you’ll still get your package soon” message on Amazon and did not, in fact, get my package haha

Hey Gang, The hubby is looking at both the JScan & Tazer.
So, totally new and he’s been reseaching.
The one thing he wants to do with it…..
TURN OFF the Auto Start/Stop

Tazer does it…… We’ve heard that JScan doesn’t (or can’t) do it….
Is that true?

To Stop ESS from turning off the engine requires an active device to be connected. If that is all that needs to be done, Smart Stop Start is a forum sponsor (and less expensive than a Tazer).
