I’m picking up my 2023 gladiator leftover later today. I’m thinking about getting the Mopar side steps. Has anyone added these and is the installation as easy as it looks?

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, I installed them on my Mojave in place of the factory rock rails. Super easy installation. Having a second set of hands helps with getting them aligned & into position while you install the hardware. But, they aren't very heavy.

Use a torque wrench. The nuts only get 9.5 ft-lbs, which isn't much and it is easy to break the studs by over-tightening.

Thanks.
No drilling required, correct, just the existing holes.

You can get some MUCH LESS expensive knockoffs out there. I spent like 350 total. Once they are on, you can't tell the difference between OEM and them. But then there is the rub... No instructions, holes don't line up and its sort of a pain in the behind. But you can get them on without drilling, just cussing. So, there is that... And so far after six months I like them as they keep stuff flying up and taking the paint off the hinges the big problem with the Gladiator. AND, they are pretty tough but NOT rock rails. AND, even if I go offroad and nail them, they will help if only by warning me of metal busting danger and I won't be out much and then be forced to get the expensive ones.

Bruce put a “Want To Buy” add in the marketplace forum here saying looking for a set of steps by you, or reach out for the Mopar performance steps, which look like wider rock rails that you can step on I have them and love them. Protecting hinges is a good thing ,front mud flaps are a good thing……Jack

I installed the much less expensive knockoff’s available at extremeterrain.com and I must say they’re good quality and a breeze to install.

Reviews for the most part are good on the steps at this site but the few negative reviews seem to involve rust. No rust on yours?

Correct. Existing holes and a simple bolt-on installation.

I sprayed the metal brackets with CRC Heavy Duty Corrosion Inhibitor at initial installation and again at about the 2-year mark. After 3 years they look great.

It’s funny you mention the possibility of damaging them. I bent the second bracket on the driver side during a ride a couple of weeks ago. Stood on the running board and straightened it out but the bracket is toast!
