Airlift 1000 Air Bags Installed

This past weekend I installed a set of Airlift 1000 air bags. I've used these on my previous trucks to level out the tow vehicle and stabilize a little of the sway. For those not familiar, these bags DO NOT in any way increase your load capacity.

Compared to previous installations (Silverado 1500, F150 and a GMC Canyon) I have to say this was the simplest, The instructions call for you to remove the springs (which is as simple as removing the lower shock bolt and jacking up the body). But, it's not necessary to do so. You can actually decompress the bags and insert them through the springs. This is what I opted to do. I will say, though, that the passenger side was a little trickier as the spring on that side is different than what is on the driver side (more coils, I assume, to accommodate for the weight of a full gas tank). This made attaching the airline a little more time consuming.

I currently have the fill valves separate and zip tied underneath the bumper. I haven't decided where I want to have them exit or if I want to tie them together and have only on fill valve.

I took it for a brief spin with the minimum pressure of 5psi and didn't notice any difference in ride quality (which has been the case in my previous installs).

How much lift do you get going from 5 psi to full pressure? Was thinking of these to level my roof top tent

I didn't take a measurement when I inflated them to the max suggested PSI to check for leaks, but it looked like it was at least 2-3" (which is consistent with the other versions of the kit I've had on other trucks). But I wouldn't hesitate to say the you should easily be able to get to level for the load your talking about.

I run tire deflators at max open on mine. Unloaded on my Mojave and you can feel a difference even at 0psi

I have these on mine. No lift noticed with 5lbs. Great leveling with a load in the bed and excellent for towing too! Easy, affordable and work great !!!

When they are flattened out, fold the bag in half (long ways) and hold the fold with zip ties. Stick the bags in the springs and cut the ties.

Soak them in hot water before installing them.
