I pulled the trigger and drove 6 hours to pickup my new to me gladi mojave about a month ago and have loved it. However, while i already rebadged the side text on the hood, I wonder, has anyone else had people steel their badges like mine (desert rated badge)? “Desert rated” or not is this a thing? I know I can replace it with the OEM but I dont care enough to spend $60 and replaced it with an amazon badge i liked but nonetheless, I also found that someone tried to take the J and P off my tailgate. I dont love in a bad area and am just on a trip with the gf but I noticed they tried to take the tailgate badges also.. smh 😂

I keep all my badges on the inside of my tool box lid. Left the Willys on the hood. It looks better than anything I could come up with.

There seems to be a lot of badge stealing out there. I’d be willing to bet nearly 20% of the BOH badges I see on Jeeps aren’t earned. Highway robbery.

You have to be really f'd up to steal a badge, but there are those out there. These days, it's high risk to put anything on your vehicle that is politically divisive. I'm still waiting for someone to damage my Glad cause it is badged with a "FJB Edition" badge on the tailgate. Seem though I may have to swap it for a "FKH Edition" if things don't work out.

Homie if’n we’re down to “FKH Edition” badges it won’t be the badges erbody stealing, it will be the gas in the tank.

They used to steal hood ornaments years ago. MB and RR was the most stolen. RR started to make their hood ornament move down into the grill to protect it.

Stuff like this tends to be regional or locale specific and most time cyclic. Lived in San Antonio for 15+ years and wheel theft was a thing. Moved to Delaware and not so much.

My first thought was that you must have really upset one of the locals.

That last part is sad, can fly a rainbow bow flag or get walked on leash dressed up as cat but don’t dare have the evil coiled freedom snake.

Aint that the truth… its sad to know especially with something as sick as the Gadsden flag. I love history and its by far my favorite due to its origins and history. Its sad that we no longer live in a society that accepts differing opinions or makes everything into something its not :/

Dont step on my snek

I see what you are getting at and makes sense. Just never thought that “desert rated” or any trail badges for that matter would be something so dumb people would go out of their way to prey it off a car. Whatever though. I was gonna rebadge the rest of the car except for jeep logos and was on the fence about leaving the trail badge on so. Thanks to them i guess? Hahaha. Though i do wish i could've kept the badge for my desk or something.

My friend had a Mercedes that kept having the hood ornament stolen. They're prized by the rap community I guess. Maybe you have a hood-gangsta teenager wearing it? Would love to see someone wear Ford or Chevy emblems for a change. lol
