Atticus will not go quietly into the night...... Just ask the guy who tried my sliding patio door. He's easy to find, he has only half an ass now.
You are suggesting he's half-assed?

My 9/21 did not trigger the alarm when hood opened. Fixed that with AlfaOBD.

There is a pretty red ribbon they can pull on the Auto and do the same.
Also, if the transfer case is put in neutral, auto or manual, it's gonna roll, no matter what gear the transmission is in, auto or manual.

I know this from the other 4x4 like defender.
I did try that the other day when putting on winter wheels... for some reason I couldn't put the transfer into N. That lever just did not want to budge from 4H with the vehicle off, and I simply did not want to force it. Does it just require force or am I missing something.
Works fairly smooth when the vehicle is on and rolling for me though.

It would actually be interesting, we have two car places here that want you to put your vehicle into N and well the Gladiator Auto Parks. Those guys freaked out and did not know what to do. What is actually the healthiest way to put an Auto into N to push it around a mech shop or yard?

Buckle the driver side seat belt. The Auto Park system is designed to keep you from running over yourself if you get out of the vehicle and don't put it in park.

As much as I love my Mojave - it will go anywhere in the wild, Jeep doesn't get gold stars for security...

And yes, insurance helps with catastrophic loss, but I don't use the "don't take any precaution approach because":
-You will take a material loss unless you have gap insurance.
-You have to start from scratch to get another one configured just like you want it, and wait, wait, wait.
-I know the WOKE-Society has infested our culture and wants us to be kind to criminals ? , but I personally do not like bending a knee to thugs who steal.

I mean good grief, no hood lock, no gas cap lock, no hood alarm (most of the times), and of course the ridiculous always on FOB..."Yea, you can't stop a determined thief if he has enough time and skill, so lets make it real easy for them!" Makes a lot of sense. -LOL!

Does the key fob relay trick work if the vehicle does not have keyless entry with the little button on the door handle to request communication with the key fob?

I've now had two dealerships tell me that they cannot enable the hood alarm. And yet many vehicles are coming from the factory with the hood alarm enabled. Mine used to be but now is not. It's almost like someone puts out a software update to turn the hood alarms off, intentionally making the vehicles easier to steal. Or there is some software glitch, or an undocumented combination of settings which disables the alarm. Aftermarket to the rescue. But this is still strange, and the hood alarm should be a standard setting available in the setup menus.

Yet you drive a gladiator?

Here you get looks. Some are like heck yea, some like wtf and then theres the you are evil. Love the kids, they are all like, that's my toy truck that I want to own when I grow up... I hope they will be able to
There's a difference between a stock grey Overland and a lifted red or blue truck with big wheels and tires.

I'm actually surprised at how many comments I get from people who notice my stock blue Mojave on 35s.

It'll work. I just tried it on mine. It's not the easiest lever to shift though.

Amazing those who buy a Jeep then complain because - it's made like a freakin' Jeep.
These are made for and marketed to those who want a Jeep, not a Mercedes or Lexus with Ford Knox security.
I see some bought the wrong truck.
Leave your GD hood locks, fuel cap locks and other "stuff" off - most of us don't want nor need it. It's a JEEP. Last thing you need is to fumble trying to unsecure things when stuck bumper deep in mud trying to get it unstuck.
You can't siphon gas out of these via the filler neck so the locking cap is only going to make you feel good - until the modern typical thief knocks a hole in the tank to take your gas.
Amazing the concerns about things extremely unlikely to happen. And yet the things that gets done to vehicles that makes worse stuff more like to happen isn't given any thought.

Everyone is entitled to opine on what they want or do not want. That's why vehicles still come with options. Just because some do not want something does not mean everyone thinks the same way.

Best part of the great USofA is everyone can think differently!

My friend in Ontario just told me this afternoon his JL was stolen from his driveway. His Ring camera footage is very similar to the one posted on YouTube recently - he did not have the hood ajar alarm enabled.

Even with his UConnect service they cannot locate his rig... Do they park these things in large faraday cages???

For $99, I just ordered the Rugged Ridge hood locks. Just one more thing for the @ssh0les to overcome before they walk away with mine. Along with the enabled hood alarm if they get the hood opened. I don't expect it to be "theft proof," just enough trouble that they'll move to something easier.
