So I've still the halogen bulb tail lights. I've a tail light that keeps burning up reverse light bulbs. No issues to the light, seems something inside the unit may have gotten shorted. Turn signal and brake works, and never issue just seems it keeps killing the reverse light. So figured may be time to replace the tail lights with an upgrade. I really don't want to pay the cost to get the Mopar LED and Oracle nothing against them I just don't like the look of their flush mount style is all.

Anyone have an after market led tail light that's been long lasting and reliable?

FWIW my oracles have been fine.
Oh I'm not worried about the reliability of oracles. I just don't like the flush mount style of them. Just not my thing.

Used factory leds for the win. My used oracles lasted about 2 years. You really can't beat mopar factory leds.

Either of the brands which mount standardized oval truck lights and marker lights. Easy/cheap to replace the light modules as the LED bulbs wear out.

But if your halogen unit is blowing reverse lights then I'd wonder what else is going on. How about a name brand halogen replacement bulb? Or try some LED bulb replacements for the reverse.

Edit to add:

or

Expect to add some kind of side reflector to each.

Yeah tried different brands, hadn't tried an led yet. I got mud into the light this spring at some point so think I may shorted something on the light unit itself.

Also dropped my truck off for lift and full suspension replacement today. The shop had the combats there on display. There a bit pricey but when seeing them in person I really like them.

Will wait awhile to see if led mopar used ones show up for sale locally at a reasonable price as I don't mind them. But locally they seem to want a fortune for beat up used ones. Or more likely see if the combat tailgunners go on sale someplace.

I installed the Rugged Ridge lights 2 weeks ago. Easy install, so far so good.
Have any pictures of the fit? Heard mix reviews of them overheating but wonder if that's just not installing it properly?

Sorry no pictures. I am not sure how they could be installed wrong. It's really straight forward.

I have not heard of them over heating and have not had issues with them so far. I have not driven 5 hours straight; however, have done a few 45-minute drives. I will keep an eye on them.

Was something about the resistor overheating and melting wires, sorry not the unit itself. But that may be just the squeaky wheel and vast majority may very well be fine. Don't remember where I was seeing complaints about that now but I can see that happening if you taped up the resistor to the wires, what I meant by install issue. Otherwise yeah I'd expect that to be plug and play.
