With all the deals advertised on 2024s this Fall, I decided this was a good time to pass down my JKUR to my son and get a Gladiator Mojave or Rubicon.
I consider myself a pretty effective negotiator and resourceful with promotions etc, however, I'm not finding the deals reported on the forums since October.

After a few days, this week, working with multiple dealers within 500 miles, iI've encountered the exact same sticking point at 15 to 16% off MSRP OTD.
Hey ... At least they're all on the same page haha! The dance has been the same ... Get their first quote, go over all the incentives, get another quote then make them my final offer and then they come back with their final OTD offer which is ... 15 or 16% lower than sticker.

At this point, I thinks it's arguably a better move to order a 2025 and get exactly what I want and that which isn't already depreciated a full year.

In the same boat, although looking to buy my first Jeep. When you say OTD 15%~16% is that after taxes and if so what is the tax rate?

I have been at around 17.5% before taxes and that includes no dealer add ons and the high FL doc fee ($899).

Yes, OTD Price \ MSRP. My sales tax is 6% (which is factored in my OTD).
Nevermind all the add ons and various fees … it just seems that the haggling stalls when the OTD price arrives at 85% of the MSRP.
Guess I’ll see what today and Monday brings.
One caveat, I gotta give sales teams respect for dealing with a myriad of anonymous time wasters … just frustrating for a serious buyer like me. (I know “boo-hoo!!”)

What’s your target price below? If you have 6% sales tax in your OTD it sounds like you are at around 21% below pre-tax. I was thinking I probably had another $3k to go in discount, but the pricing on these is so tough to pin down. With the inclusion of auto transmission in the 2025 msrp, I agree that the 2025 is looking more appealing. I would imagine those could be 10% off before long in mfg incentives.

I bought a week ago. Price with taxes is aways a mess since I trade in to offset taxes. So my OTD might look lower than others. 53.9k was all costs but sales taxes.. then trade then add tax back in my OTD "cut a check" was 35,876.28. 2024 mojave sticker was just a couple dollars under 70k.

Oh. Florida. So that 53.9 includes 1200 in dealer fees. Because every stupid dealer in fl has em. Last time I bought out of state fl added an import tax of 500$ (environmental fee) and i can't get the sales tax offset on a trade out of state so I don't buy out of state anymore. The math doesn't math for it unless it's a crazy deal like gumpton had a few years ago

Oh. And this was the talk me into it math. 2020 sport s. To upgrade to front rear lockers stronger axles better suspension and better seats (my back) was going to run a bit under 20k. Wife said for 2x that you can get a new truck under warranty that has all the stuff I wanted plus the stuff she wanted. (Power/heated seats) so that is how that not well planned purchase went. More work i might have been able to get the price down another 1500. Maybe. But I ended up only paying 12k more for the fully loaded mojave than I paid for the sport s back in 2021 ( it was a left over 2020) which had a then sticker of 52k. I dont know if the dealer will get better in q1. I expect drilling to resume in q1 which will cause dropping of gas prices so demand for thirsty trucks will go up

Scott - Thanks for this feedback, very very helpful. Looks like your purchase with fees and gross taxes was 80% of MSRP. Maff isn’t my strong suit … that is a solid deal! Is it Dec 31st money?? Maybe not but that’s me confusing “Hope” with “Reality”. Good work my friend and thanks

Did you try Koons in VA? They are great to work with and they used to be a sponsor here…….not sure what happened. Multiple folks here bought from them (including me) and saved a ton.

Thanks. That’s helpful and that’s where I would like to get. On a similarly priced vehicle I’m still at around $57k. Need to shake the trees and see if someone will make it happen. Thanks again.

I would have if I planned the purchase. Koons i havent used in the past but my son used gumpton. It just doenst make a lot of sense to buy out of state. But no planning involved. I woke up with no plans to buy and had a new truck by 3pm last Saturday..

Here in So Cal the sales tax is 10.25% and registration is about another 2%. But it gets better. To buy it you have to save up after tax money. Between state and fed you probably have 30% income taxes. That new $60K jeep is going to take about $100K in earnings. LOL. That's what I did , then I put another $20K into it in mods. Today my 2022 is worth about $40K. I have lost about $60K in cash with it so far. It's only money.

JTguy. I moved from a high tax state MN. About 12 years ago. I couldn't take the then 9.8% local income tax. Fl has problems but no state income tax is very nice.

It's not really helpful around here to talk about "OTD" pricing since every state/municipality differs insofar as taxes and licensing. The negotiated price as a percentage of MSRP is what IS helpful for others to weigh against.
